The best Doom WADs.

So I've started getting into Doom wads and I'm looking for more. Currently I'm working my way through Unloved which is a fantastic horror wad, very silent hillesk atmosphere. Before this I finsihed Putrefier, which was just a really graphically impressive mod, they did some amazing things with the level. And before that I did the Winters Fury megawad, also some really impressive level design and graphics for a doom wad, plus a kinda interesting story that was interestingly told with some great boss fights.

What are some other good wads aside from the obvious like brutal doom, project brutality and pirate doom.

I've never actually played it, but the weapons from Russian Overkill are just hilarious from the Youtube vids I've seen. Seriously. One of the least absurd weapons is a quad-barrel shotgun which has a secondary fire of hauling out three more shotguns just like it and discharging all sixteen barrels at once. How in the hell this is possible, I have no freaking idea.

And they just get crazier from there.

Well, if that's too old school for you; you can always try moonman.wad, Grezzo II, trump.wad, pol.wad and HDoom.

I already know what those are and I said good wads, 'see how edgy I can be' crap wads. Hdoom excluded.

But Grezzo II is genuinely good, as are the wads created by Eric Harris (UAC Labs) believe it or not.

At best Grezzo 2 is interesting. If you want to see a really good one then check out unloved.
