Right, i'm thinking of buying a new computer pretty soon for gaming purposes and the one i'm looking at buying will need a GPU upgrade ideally. I'm willing to spend up to £200 on a new card so I realise I won't be able to get the real high-end stuff at that price but what do you guys think would be the best one to buy in that price range? I'm already strongly considering the ATI 6850.
Thanks in advance =)

This [http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card-game-performance-radeon-hd-6670,2935.html] should help.
Also, welcome.

That link was very informative, I didn't realise that the 6000 series cards were so close in terms of performance to the 5000 series.

Yeah in the ATi cards even though the 6850 and 6870 where not the predicesors to their 5850 and 5870 counter parts, they are absolutely solid offerings at a great price and the price to performance is almost impossible to beat. But buyer beware your comp is only as good as your weakest part, so make sure your RAM, CPU, and Mobo game is straight or even the baddest GPU on the market can only make so much improvement. Also having used a 6850 you wont be disappointed, it benchmarks well, OC's average, (if thats your sort of thing) and right out of the box is ready to play most PC games at high level graphics and in some cases ultra.

The processor i'm looking at should operate at about 2.7 GHz and has six cores and i'm hoping to upgrade to 8GB of RAM so i'm hoping that will suffice :)
