So I got Black Ops this week. And I'm just gonna stop there before I start rambling about how awesome I found it.

Anyways, I was messing around with Nazi Zombies when my stepbrother said that you could play another mini game from the terminal in the main menu, so he proceeded to show me...

[HEADING=3]DEAD OPS![/HEADING]

It's fun as shit! If shit was fun. It's awesome though!

I mean, it blatantly rips off the DLC game "Zombie Apocalypse" (which I'm sure is a blatant rip off of some other game) and I'm sure all of two people worked on it for a week, but it's just addictive.

I'm currently paused on wave 17 on solo mode, dunno if that's good or not, but considering my brother only got to wave 10...

Fun fact! You can also play the text based game "Zork" from the terminal in the menu screen, in case you missed the article about that.

So I digress, what is your favorite mini game in any game. I'm gonna go with Dead Ops here, I think I like it more than the normal game, which I already like a lot.

Then again, I am very easily amused with my ADD.

One of my favorites is the Qwark vid-comics in Ratchet and Clank UYA. Classic 2d jumping and shooting, got you a lot of money, and they had a hilarious story. Oh, and does anyone remember Spy Fox? the second one had an awesome space minigame I used to turn on the game just to play. I'd probably still enjoy it if I still had it.....Should I be ashamed now?

I think my favourite is Liar's Dice in Red Dead Redemption. I have lots of fun with that game, and with my recent purchase of the Liars and Cheats add-on, I am able to play the game in multiplayer. Of course, the challenge really ups when you are facing off against real people. Damn humans, with their wits and their tactics... *grumble*

There was a (i think)Might and Magic game, where you could play a game in the Tavern that was like a simplified version of Magic the Gathering, that one was addicting.

I read the thread title and thought of Dead Ops...
That has to be the best minigame I've played, since it's just so simple. There isn't anything over the top added to it, just you, powerups, and zombies...
So between the campaign, wager matches, multiplayer, and minigame, Black Ops has been occupying me pretty damn well.

i think blitzball in FFX has to do it for me.

though dead ops was pretty fun, it doesnt seam very immersive, nor does it relate to the game in anyway, (i know it doesnt have to but it helps for me)

another close runner up was geometry wars in project gotham racing 3, the little arcade in your garage, that was pretty fun, and i loved that game :p

Blitzball in FFX

Triple Triad in FFVIII (yes the game is a big bowl of nonsense but the card game is addicting)

Making factory items/weapons in Rogue Galaxy (because it actually involves a lot of thought in the more complex recipes)

Arcomage in Might and Magic 7 and 8, eh. 'twas a pretty fun game to play.

On topic: Blitzball in Final Fantasy X was good, but I've always loved Triple Triad from FFVIII the most of any mini-games. Damn I enjoyed playing that, not to mention that the cards could help you in the game, too.

I spent forever playing Blitzball in FFX. But other than that I tend to really dislike these sorts of games. Especially when it takes work in the normal game to get stuff for it. Unless there's some clear benefit to playing them.

New vegas's caravan would be ok, but I don't understand how to play the bloody game. I hope there's poker later on though, that's the one game I LOVE as a minigame.

I'm going to agree with all of the people who said Blitzball -- I can't stand FFX, but Blitzball is great. I remember saying several times while it was still relevant that a stand alone blitzball game would be awesome. It would basically be the only Madden-style sports game that I would actually buy. The snowboarding, submarine, and motorcycle mini games in FF VII all deserve mentions as well. Also, I'm pretty sure I'd spend more time playing Zork than the main game if I ever got Black Ops. Zork rules.
