This one's on the tin. What is the best/most fun/most enjoyable game modification you know of or have played. For me it's Europa Barbarorum, the best, most historically accurate total conversion mod for Rome: Total War.

I have two.

Underdark for Oblivion and New Vegas Bounties for, obviously, New Vegas.

Yay! Another thread where I get to talk about how much I love Nehrim!

Anyway, Nehrim. It's a total conversion mod for Oblivion. It is considered by many (myself included) to be far, far better than Oblivion proper. It has an outstanding main quest, great world design, and has a much more balanced economy and leveling. Also, no level scaling, which is always a good thing.

-Saxton Hale Mode
-PropHunt

-Death Run
-Tf2ware
There's so damn many, and then there's that minecraft mod for L4D2 that looks pretty sweet, you can't really pick just one.

Diplomacy for Mount and blade: warband.

It makes being a king of your own faction so much more viable, as well as adding in some more variety to the political aspects in the game.

The one and only Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, followed by Brotherhood of Shadows: Solomon's Revenge for KOTOR1. One of them makes the best Star Wars game of all time even better, and the other one lets you relive the final moments of the Mandalorian Wars as Revan before the fall.

Black Mesa: Would totally pay money for it.

Oblivion Mods are awesome: Companion Vilja, Deadly Reflex, OBGE, Unnoficial Oblivion Patch, Synx Race, Underdark, Ravenpride, Unique Landscapes, DMRA, and many more. COuld never play the game without it, and even plan to go back later this year after like a gajillion hours.

Clan Quest Mod: Would probably enjoy Vampire Bloodlines alot less without it.

Company of Heroes: Blitzkreig mod. It beats out eastern front barely because of the sheer awesome firepower it gives you.

Also, for Fire Emblem (GBA 2003), I'm a big fan of the rom hacks elibean nights and dream of five.

wow i was actually beat to it, the brotherhood of shadows mod was fucking amazing, whoever made it did a really good job on taking areas already in the game and restructuring them for their own plotline, i personally loved the depth it added to revan as a character.

Most of the lines are revamped for additional strength. For example, the panzer elite tank hunter line gets the heaviest armor in the game (an aircraft bomb bounced off my Jagdtiger's hull) and the luftwaffe line get some badass stuka air support. SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Easiest question I've had to answer on this forum in a hot minute.

My choice is Building Up Tel Uvirith, a mod for Morrowind that expands upon the tower the player is given for reaching the rank of Archmagister in the greatest of the Great Houses, House Telvanni. As the tower by default is a rather useless phallic symbol jutting out of the ground in the middle of nowhere, this mod takes it upon itself to turn a useless tower into a bustling gated-off town for the exorbitantly wealthy, with the player as the key decision-maker regarding the town's operation. Tel Uvirith can be customized, expanded, and all manner of other fantastic stuff to keep the player coming back for more.

I won't lie, I had a slave trade going. My character was kind of an evil ***** like that.

Eastern Sun/Chaos Empire for Diablo II: LoD.

They don't improve an already perfect game, but they add hellishly fun features. Glorious modders.

The Babylon 5 mod for Homeworld was pretty impressive as well as the recent stand alone BSG mod for Freespace 2. Black Mesa would be pretty high as well.

The Stanley Parable is one of the best experiences I have ever had with a video game ever.

I'm gonna go with Tekkit for Minecraft, really improves the game. Some of the things in Minecraft were also originally in Tekkit first.

I'll third that. RCM is amazing, it's great to see the game how it should've been, because of the lovely modders who've taken to time to make it. BoS: SR have some balancing issues, but it's so well made and the story fits so well. It's a shame it's not offical canon, because I think it's that good.

I would like throw out a couple of honorable mentions though, like:

Minerva: Metastasis
and Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2.

Worth noting is that the level design for Minerva was so good, that the guy behind it was hired by Valve. That really says something.
