Just a tad curious, but what is the best thing you have ever purchased on steam? For me it would have to be the recent sale on all of the "Total War" games, such great games for a low, low price. So tell me what you're best purchase was

Most everything I've gotten off Steam has been from a bundle, but the best, or at least the one I've played the most, was from a Valve bundle which included Team Fortress 2 (which I play pretty much daily) and both Left 4 Deads (which I haven't touched since I beat them both on 360) along with a couple of other titles. Don't remember what all was in the bundle, or even how much I paid, but whatever it was it was worth it for TF2.

Also note, I didn't originally buy the bundle for TF2 since I already have it on PS3. It just happened to be a part of the bundle.

I have plenty of games on steam, but I've only bought a few of them through it. With that in mind, I'd have to say the Company of Heroes pack.

Mass Effect 1 AND 2 for ten bucks total, baby!

It's a damn shame they don't work very well, due to the fact that we got our computer's graphics card on sale during the French Revolution...

The original Xcom for about $5 /thread.

Ha, in all seriousness though, Company of Heroes and all its expansion packs for $10 was a hell of a deal. Got Fallout new vegas and that Technology blues pack thing for 12 bucks too. I bought them and I know my comp cant even run them, I just bought them so that when i can afford a better computer this christmas I'll have an couple of awesome games to play right off the bat. Plus, Xcom could run on a toaster these days, so having it just means I have an awesome game I can play on almost any computer I come in contact with. Need to install that on a flash drive or something...

I think the free games I've gotten were just as awesome too. I've gotten Teamfortress 2 AND the original portal for free.

What sucks is my computer is old and dying and I cant play any of the games besides the original xcom yet. I've been saving up for a new computer, and having these games ready to go will make that day that much sweeter

There was that one bundle that had Uplink and Hacker Evolution in it. Uplink is SO DAMN GOOD!

Other than that, probably Terraria.

Although this isn't really appropriate because of the word "purchased"

I was lucky enough to get Portal (I) for free on Steam. In my country STEAM is normally just waaaaay to expensive that I'm using oversea amazon products or ebay to get my games.

Europa Universalis III, what I never really liked with the total war games was the lac of political options, this got fix in EU3. Besides that it costed me like 10euro(all expansions included) during some sale.

I would be hard pressed to choose either Braid or the Orange Box Bundle. This is probable to change though since I'm not sure if I should buy Pyschonauts, (assuming I like it as much as I think I would).

Probably Audiosurf believe it or not. It's an extremely entertaining little game, nothing at all like my usual tastes. For less than a quid, it's probably the best value game I've ever bought anywhere, never mind just on Steam. I'd seriously recommend it as a fun little distraction.

Probably Tropico 3 got it over the Christmas sale and I feel I probably didn't pay enough for that game.

In all seriousness, X-Com: UFO Defence is the best thing I've purchased from Steam. I've gotten some great games and a lot of bargains, but nothing, nothing, beats X-Com (Well except JA2 which I still have on disk and also bought from GOG).

Unless you are buying for a Mac or must have the Steam Overlay. I'd suggest you buy from GOG because then it will truely be DRM free.
