The biggest 'time-vampire' of a game you've ever played

Simply put, what game has made you frequently look at the clock and think 'Wow, I can't believe I just spent three hours (or however long it was) playing'? For me, it'd most likely be Minecraft, whittling away hours building my underground empire. Desktop Dungeons is the runner-up, as it has all the makings of a massive time-killer, but I haven't had it for very long so it hasn't proven itself yet.

So, what are your time-vampires of gaming? (Furthermore, you could also discuss why it's so compelling to you. For example, Minecraft for me is probably related to the sheer unleashed creativity of it all.)

EDIT: Canabalt and TF2 get honorable mentions; I've sunk over 350 hours into the latter and have played the former for hours on end, trying to beat my record and wishing for plate-glass windows to all go die horribly (If you've played the game, you know exactly what I'm talking about).

I recently hit my 900th hour of Garry's mod, 99% of which would be on Trouble In Terrorist Town, which I have played nearly daily for going on a year.

Medieval 2: Total War.

My first foray into the total war series, I got it mainly because it was 10 bucks and there was a Lord of the Rings full conversion mod. I played that for a few hours, picked up a mod called Stainless Steel (basically rebalances the main game, adds some new units, etc), and now all of a sudden I have like 50 hours on it on my steam account after a week o_O

No wonder my chem homework didn't get done..

As of late, Starcraft II.
I'm determined to upgrade into the Master's league, and because of this, I am playing it a ton when I'm not out drinking.

Both Civ IV and Hearts of Iron 2. The "just a little longer" nature of those games can have me spend hours leading my empire/nation through history.

Minecraft.
If you bring a stack of logs underground, you can wander around there for hours without ever having to resurface.

Mount And Blade and it's sequel Mount And Blade: Warband has managed to use up 184 hours of my life, which is quite a bit more than most other games I've played.

The 360 version of TF2.

48 hours as the spy.
43 hours as the engineer.

Odd considering it's the worst version.

Disgaea 3, I can spend hours just bumping up the numbers of my dudes slowly but surely. Go through phases of getting sick of the game though, so my other great time vampire is probably:

Just Cause 2. The gamer in me plays it because it's consistantly fun, the OCD masochistic maniac in my plays it for the number crunching

I used to play a lot of Counter-strike, but I haven't played a game of CS in roughly a year now. I'm sure its the biggest time burglar for me all-time.

Well, I tried to "get" Minecraft for 3 hours just before I x'd the page out and saw this. Still didn't work, found it boring as all hell.

Civ 4. The countless times I started playing just a bit before I went to bed..then looking at the clock and realize I've already missed my first college lesson.

Haven't got any at the moment, but in the past it's been Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Red Read Redemption, Fallout New Vegas, and Dragon Age: Origins.
