So I have not been making top 20 lists in the past few weeks, and the main reason [excuse] for it is mainly the charts seem to just be full of songs that all melt together in boredom and confusion.
So, I might as well talk about why I review Billboards Hot 100 and not some other chart.
First, the only way of a song getting on the charts is via 3 factors. Radio Airplay, Digital Streaming, And Sales data. Airplay is basically if radio stations are playing it, Sales is if people are buying the song or album, And digital streaming is people listening on digital streaming services [think YouTube and Spotify]. Being good in all factors helps make your place on the charts higher, But you don't have to be good in all three to get a place on the charts.
And right now it seems slow, boring, samey type songs are being put high on the charts. Along with the usual rap song here and there. So just saying the same thing for weeks on end would make me go insane.
So when the charts start to get interesting again, I'll go back to it. In the mean time i'll most likely be reviewing songs in full.
"Shape of you" might be first, that or "Chained to the Rhythm".
