when arguments are brought up against always online, the response is that people are already always online with many different things
however I've always thought of that as a really bad argument as that just shows how much we rely on services that can be very unstable at times, and that in certain events could go out for long periods of time. I dislike the idea that we need more things to run always online as if the internet or the power goes out many systems would be out in seconds. The more society makes services rely totally on things that are easily disrupted during disasters (power lines) the more we put ourselves at risk
