Have you ever had to suffer the tragic fate of your system's demise?

Alot of us have been there we go to turn on are SNES's and N64's and they dont turn on and just never work again its a sad day for us all. What did you do when it happened?

Id prob cry manly tears if my N64 ever stoped working I love that system so much.

Well, my Dreamcast died. No big loss, as everything I liked on it was ported to another system.

Grandia 2 to PS2/PC. Skies of Arcadia to Gamecube. Power Stone to PSP.

I'm on my 4th 360. If this goes...Well...yeah. I'm done.

I have a PS3 now. And if that dies, all my save data dies with it, right? Or can it be removed and placed into another with no harm done?

And we've all had our old game carts die and loss their save data, I'm sure.

My computer is dying... I have to call support and see if my warranty is still good. I'm not happy.

I'm also on my 3rd 360.
I'm on my 4th ps3. Yeah, 4th.

My pc stopped working, on account of it's motherboard being fried. They replaced it, but seeing that I purchased it back in 2005 there was only one left that was still compatible with it. Needless to say the new motherboard is shit on a crusty roll and I can't play ANYTHING! Even Sim City 4 glitches out and makes my computer scream in agony. So I guess this is it for my poor ol' companion.

I'm buying a new one as soon as I am done with my exams and are able to earn some money.

Oh and my Genesis died back in 2001. Sad day indeed... My PS2 is still strong and lively though ad considering it was purchased in 2004, when the models were still fat, that's a thing to be happy about! If it died I would be devastated. I have 30 games for it!

You can put it on a USB stick, though I don't know if the PS3 Slim has USB ports if you happen to have one.

OT: I remember my PS2 dying jusy a few days before the release of Shadow of the Colossus. It wasn't really dead though, the disk tray got busted.
My 360 died so many times that I almost felt like not bothering with it anymore.

On my 3rd 360, and its getting finicky. It likes to not read perfectly good disks. I can hear it to, it starts reading them, then stops one second later. After opening/closing the disk tray enough it works again, but I'm pretty sure its going to die soon.

Had a PS1, gave it to my Cousin it still works.
Have a PS2, never have any problems.
My PC's, never had a problem that wasn't related to software.

Actually, all of my systems still work. My NES and PS1 get a bit cranky sometimes and my N64 controllers are so worn out that it's hard to play but so far, so good.

My XBOX, Wii and Gamecube work perfectly and I'm still on my original 360 so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.

....although my boyfriend's PS3 won't play Blu-Rays or GOW 3......

... I've never had an snes or older system die on me, ever. My snes, nes, sega master system, and even my ataris start up if I want to play oldschool.

The only systems I've had trouble with is the Sony brand ones. I've lost one or two PS1's, which didn't bother me half as much as it should have. And I had a ***** of a time trying to get a working PS2 (first one didn't work, second one didn't want to read games, third one wouldn't let the controller operate, and finally - when the store was pissed at me for returning a PS2 repeatedly in one day - I found one that worked.) That was more annoying than anything.

The only system I've ever had die on me was my first 360, it was one of the older models with the faulty Xenon chips, and I actually managed to keep it running for a surprisingly long time (over 4 years) before it bit the dust. Its death was mildly frustrating, but I had the money to replace it at the time, and since I had been expecting it for a long time it wasn't too bothersome.

The new one, with the Jasper chip, has worked perfectly ever since I got it about two years ago. Actually, it's worked better than my old one. The power chord isn't as demanding, the old one wasn't a problem when I lived with my parents, but when I moved out and got my own apartment the outlets in the apartment would cause the power chord itself to overheat, forcing me to wait a while before I could turn it back on. The Jasper model had a much lighter power chord, it's never given me any problems, so all in all it was actually a good thing that the old one died because it resulted in my ending up with a much more reliable system.

My fat PS2 died a few months ago and I had to replace it with one of the skinny ones. What's really sad is that it died with a disc inside, so instead of allowing it to retire with dignity, I had to rip it open to get to the disc drive to manually unlock it. Now I have one of those thin ones.

Other than that, my PSX still works, my N64, NES, and SNES all still work.

I suspect sometime in the future I'll either have to install an emulator to run my discs or hope one of the big companies releases their entire library digitally. I'm leaning more to the emulator as that doesn't care how many systems I play them on.

My PS2 breaking after my brother straight up punched it (he wasn't doing very well on Def Jam...) plus my HD TV breaking, not a console you say? Well I'd just started playing Mass Effect damnit! I'd just turned spectre for Christ's sake!

My Dreamcast died a few years ago, I was really sad about it, I loved that console. A couple of months ago my xbox360 RROD. Sadly my PS2 is acting weird, the picture keeps going and I will be very sad when it dies.
