Does anyone think that comics are on the decline storywise and fanbase rise? Personally, I don't think the stories are very good (at least Marvel and DC, but I haven't read Blackest Night), and I don't think their fanbase is growing at all. When I went to the NY Comic Con last year, there were mostly adults there. Thoughts?

To be honest, I've never gotten into comics. Difficult to wrap my head around all the crossovers, story-arcs, etc. and I would need to somehow find old copies to read.
I'm just going to stick to my graphic novels.

I think too much focus is being put onto the "Big" stories. The crossovers where a massive event is supposed to happen. Take Marvel for instance. Right after Captain America was killed off in the Civil War storyline, he company went straight to World War Hulk and then the Skrull Invasion. There was hardly any room to breath.

I don't think there's many new fans entering the fray. Todays generation get their knowledge on comic book characters from cartoons and movie adaptions, uneducated swines they are.
