LOL. The day 1 patch is exactly the same size as the digital download, so what is even the point of the physical edition? Not interested in this game in the slightest but it does makes me wonder if ubi actually printed discs with zero game data on it. Imagine you don't know and pop the disc in b/c you have slow internet and..wait for that 90GB 'update' to download.

With games needing to be regularly updated it already makes physical copies redundant imo but this must be the first time where the disc is used to just download the digital edition in it's entirety. Well done ubi! :p

I am mostly curious as to why the PS4 version is almost twice the size of the PC/Xbox version, considering the architecture on the PS4 isn't that different from the other two.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe it's for the 4K resolution support for the Pro but then X Box one X should be similar though maybe these downloads are separated.

If I had to guess, the patch had to overwrite so many of the base game files that they just found it easier to have players redownload a whole new version of the game, which obviously wouldn't be on the shipped game disks that were made weeks ago.

Not justifying it, because your game should be tested and working before manufacturing let alone before shipping, but at least that's probably the reason.

Oh Ubisoft.

If that were true I honestly don't know what's worse. Buying the digital edition on a disc or having to download the entire game b/c they made such drastic last minute changes.

See, stuff like this is why when I was allowed to pick two games from RE2, DMC5, and The Division 2, it wasn't a hard choice.

I love having physical media really I do. But the direction games are going, are dramatically pushing to make Digital a better choice. I mean I like the physical disks or cards because you just pop them into a system ten years from now, and you can play your game.

But in the age of half-finished products, endless patch cycles, and online services, those days are gone. I don't think you'd be able to play something as complete as God of War in ten years because I don't know how much of the game is on the disc and how many extra files are downloaded during install to get it running.

No. That would be the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain

To be fair, Metal Gear Solid V wasn't downloaded in its entirety...because it was never finished and the end of the game is a bunch of storyboards.

Wait, did I say fair? I meant fuck Konami.

Well, technically the end is replaying the first mission over again(Tutorial prompts and all) so you can watch a cutscene that you couldn't possibly have witnessed, then a call forward to Metal Gear which is both confusing and not particularly interesting And then there's a bunch of audiotapes added to your database you can't reasonably expect to have access to.

Ironically, the closest thing to an actual ending is "A Quiet Exit" because it's the only thing that has a sense of finality and closure to it in the entire fucking game.

I really wish the game had capped off with this, or something close to it, rather then the damn mirror scene.

I meant this, which is the actual ending and explains what was supposed to happen with Sahelanthropus and Liquid, which otherwise ends on a stupid cliffhanger that doesn't tie into the other MGS games at all.
