Okay, so I'm a big fan of Frank Herbert's Dune series and I've read the original six books that he wrote multiple times; and I've recently come into position of most of his other works. Now, I love the work he did and I'm quite fond of his writing style, so I was fairly disappointed when I originally discovered ten years ago that Frank Herbert died in the 80's and the Dune series was left unfinished until it was picked up by his son Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Now I've heard a good amount of argument that Brian Herbert and Anderson have not been good for the series at all, so I just left it alone. But I recently read a sample from Dune: The Butlerian Jihad, and I honestly didn't know what to make of it, the sample was too short for me to really make an informed decision. I couldn't really tell if it was okay or not, the only thing that I did see was the difference in writing styles. So here's the point of this thread, are there any opinions that can help me decide if I should bother to pick up the rest of the books, or just continue to leave them as they are. Any answers would be appreciated.
