To be fair, they looked like terrible clay monsters in Oblivion. Though they all did...SajuukKhar said:Elves are not supposed to look like men with pointy ears.
This is about my reaction. I'm not entirely certain to whom Zenimax is hoping to cater to with this trailer. I'd think that the main selling point of an Elder Scrolls MMO versus, say, any other MMO, is that it's the Elder Scrolls, and the Elder Scrolls is awesome.[footnote]Grammatically awkward sentences ahoy![/footnote] The problem is, in order to make me excited about an Elder Scrolls MMO, I'm going to need to see that it is, in fact, the Elder Scrolls. To win me over, this trailer should've made giddy with fanboyish excitement.SajuukKhar said:Sorry, but, how was that video Elder Scrolls again?
There is and Argonian in the Background in the cave. He is in shadow but he is there.ruedyn said:To be fair, they looked like terrible clay monsters in Oblivion. Though they all did...SajuukKhar said:Elves are not supposed to look like men with pointy ears.
Personally, I wonder why there are no khajiits, or any other race that might require pointy ears, and maybe some paint. I think it's just kind of lazy.
Oh, the spiky headed thing in the very back on one frame :|Eddie the head said:There is and Argonian in the Background in the cave. It seems to be the sort of trailer to get non-Elder Scrolls fans into it. Which is the sort of trailer they REALLY shouldn't be making. At least not at this point in the game :\shrimpcel said:I could not even tell which faction was which. And why are there no Khajiit or Argonians? Those are easily recognizable staples of the Elder Scrolls franchise. The trailer also does not really show how the game will be. Nor is it how we would like it to be: where's the exploration? This is just some strange battle for a very strange tower.
Trailers, especially ones like this, don't represent the final product. This is evidenced best by Dead Island.SajuukKhar said:Well, if the game ends up sucking, we can all be thankful for the fact that Bethesda can just say that Molag Bal's planemeld caused a dragonbreak, and then write the entire game out of the canon.
That's what I love about a series whose gods are literal personifications of what they represent, if the gods die, everything goes to shit, and if the god of time dies, so does time itself, so fuck everything that happened in the time that the time god re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-died.
Akatosh does have a very bad habit of not being able to stay alive, or, well, dead, he keeps dieing after hes already dead, because, fuck logic.
Yeah, I'm a bit clueless as to why as well. Either the other races in their respective alliances don't trust them all that much (The Khajit and Argonian race have always been controversial for being thieves and such afaik) or the people who made the cinematic were too lazy to put them in, tis saddening nonetheless. And why are there no Khajiit or Argonians?
According to Jesse Cox on his review on the Alpha(!!) Version of the game, it is far off from being a WoW Clone. Anyone wishing to know more on what will and could be in the game should give this a watch.ShinyCharizard said:I'll be honestly surprised if this game doesn't just end up being a reskinned and crappier version of WoW. Note to the devs, trying to beat WoW by copying WoW will leave you all without a job.
After watching that I'm now somewhat optimistic about this game.Apointicus said:According to Jesse Cox on his review on the Alpha(!!) Version of the game, it is far off from being a WoW Clone. I don't really understand, most of the characters are easily identifiable to me and I've been playing ES games since Oblivion. If you round up what the races are well known for doing (Ex. The girl who casted spells and used a single sword is probably a High Elf, since wood elves are known for their expertise in Archery) and what alliance they're in its pretty easy.wombat_of_war said:its pretty bad when ive played elder scrolls games since daggerfall and im having trouble figuring out what races are what because they look so generic.
Yes there is indeed an Argonian i realized, thanks for that. =Pi take the word of you guys that there is an argonian in the background for a shot in the dungeon because i didnt see one. hang on could the werewolf things be khajiit?
If you've researched the game a bit (http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/game-guide) it's really easy to tell apart what the races and factions are.Well, impressive as it was, I couldn't tell any of the factions apart. I couldn't even tell what race was what.
Nords and Imperials are all/or predominately white and the Redguards are all black, im pretty sure its so people can tell which race is which, and it sticks to the general look of the races. As for the following races being the main attraction...Why did they have to go for generic white males (obviously being Imperials and/or Nords) as the main attraction, and then either a Bosmer or Altmer female that just looked like a person with pointy ears?
Apparently in Lore, Bretons are known for being really deadly assassins(This was pointed out by a Youtube comment, take it or leave it.) Also, if an Argonian was the assassin it would not make sense, the Argonians belong in a different faction.Volan said:Why couldn't the badass guy with the slick bow and knife skills have been an Argonian?
