If the elder scrolls series were to go to the future would it do well?. Would you buy it? Would there be any changes you hate/like? What do you think?

It'd almost be like Star Wars, but with more sparkly effects for "The Force" (magic!).

Nah its not Fallout folks!

Imagine one set in like... the 19th Century, yeah, now that'd be brilliant, Muskets and Rifles, Rapiers and Scimitars too, and magic could be something that was forgotten, then rediscovered in the game, now that would be awesome.

Whaaaa?

Elder Scrolls in space? Nope. Never. That'd kill the very spirit of the series. You want Space Fantasy? Stick to Warhammer 40 000.

Besides, open space outside of Nirn (the planet) is a supernatural void, Masser and Secundus are both facets of some god (I don't remember), and stars are actually comparatively tiny portals to Oblivion.

So, um... No. Don't like that. At least, not personally.

There are no Khajiit in Fallout.
It's not Elder Scrolls without M'aiq.

It's called Fallout 3 and is in stores now!
I lol'd.

But seriously, that sounds like it would be terrible.

Elders Scrolls should NEVER take place in the future!
EVER!

I would like to see a Steampunk-like Elders Scrolls game. It would be interesting.
Morrowind was probably the most Steampunk-like game in the series so far.

I had hoped that with Skyrim technology would have come along a lot more. I heard crossbows were in I and II. Is Tamrial regressing?

I don't know if Space Elderscrolls would work as the 'space' in the sky is Oblivion or some crap. Tamrial isn't in a galaxy, it's in its own dimension. It's strange. I don't quite get it.

I do want to visit its moons though.

I think it would basically be Fallout with magic and Khajiit.

Crossbows were also in Morrowind, along with a variety of other Marksman weapons. In terms of weaponry, it would seem that Tamriel is, indeed, regressing.

Sounds a might like Arcanum.

Not too far in the future (unless it's like...Mass Effect...okay I'll admit I'd like a future Elder scrolls) Steampunk would just be awesome. Guns replacing Bows, Magic being relatively rare but still practiced, Large hostile...areas...with...I don't know but...I'd buy it.

If it had the name Elder Scrolls in the title, I wouldn't buy it.

If Bethesda made some other futuristic game which resembles TES/Fallout 3/NV, then yes.

You mean like Bethesda does Mass Effect?

No. They'd be terrible at it.
- Land on other planets and find all their books!
- Become an all-powerful space god-being!
- We heard you liked exploring caves, so we put caves on other planets so you can do dungeons while you do dungeons!

eh it would probably just be labeled a fallout/mass effect knock off
just keep skyrim and all its glory in the past and let games like mass effect and fallout stay in the future

If it was the relative future, maybe during Tamriel's earliest industrial revolution that would be pretty badass.

The future of what? Of Tamriel? I don't know. They have magic, so science likely wouldn't happen... I don't know... It would be like Fullmetal Alchemist but with regular magic instead of alchemy?

I think that this would ruin the series, however. It would break the lore like none other...

But, really...

Fuck...

I'd still buy it.
