Well, this was a bust.
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is down to $20 at the stores and having tried it once on trial I was willing to put the money down for it. However I do not have a credit card so in order to play at all I am going to ahve to of course pick up a game timecard. Should be no problem, the Warhammer Online site has a nice list of stores that they say carries them.
Well, turns out there is a diffrence between carrying them and stocking them. Future shop even checked for all of western Canada with no luck finding a store having any listed in stock. Best Buy out and out told me that WoW so far out sells everything else they haven't bothered with WAR cards since the games release.
Checking over the sites I found that yes, this did indeed seem to be the case. Unless it was a new release just about every store did not have the supposed timecards in stock. Even a couple of the local only stores didn't carry them. This wasn't just WAR but ALL MMO time cards save of course, WOW at dedicated gaming stores.
I admit to being a bit miffed, especially at the dedicated gaming stores not being able to be bothered to keep a small selection of credit card sized product. Is demand for time cards really that low after the initial flurry of the release that it's not profitable to keep something so small in stock?
