We all remember the side scrolling classics but who has played Cave Story? Its one of the most difficult games I have ever played, think of a cross between Zelda and Metroid and you have the idea. Its a shareware game, and at first seems pretty tame but get towards the end with all of the power ups and you are in for a nightmare of an ending. The question is has anyone ever made it through the hidden board Sacred Ground? And if so how the hell did you have anything left after the seemingly last fight?

Oh man I completely loved that game. I mean, old school 2D platforming and RPG at its finest. Awesome music, kinda nice story, cool characters, evolving weapons, extra levels, multiple endings... what more could you ask for?!

... the one where you have to defeat the supposedly last boss and, as you rush out to get on the ship, you actually walk inside a house and drop down to one of the most difficult levels in the history of EVER. Not that I found it by myself, I had to go to GameFAQs to figure out how to get there, and then it was all about patience.
