The Future City (Sci-Fi Fantasy Epic) Sign Up Thread (Open, Started)

The Future City is a spinoff of the other Fantasy RP: The City which takes place 2000 year prior, many of the same Lore apply. But it is not needed to enjoy this as there is much new lore and changed lore exclusively for the Future City. Both RP's will be run at the same time.

[HEADING=1]The City:[/HEADING]

In 2999 B.C. (Before City) just as the Second World War ended, a group of Mages called, Savors, used Dark God Magic to put an evil mist over the continents of Nasha, Konil and Poaz, which kills anyone who tries to stay there for then a month with no magic powerful enough to break it.

It was then people moved to the only remaining continent, Walli which instantly became overcrowded and it was then the City was created. Districts were formed in the sections, the North, Middle, and South, which are separated by the North and South Mountains.
Conflict rose, despite their harsh history, war still rose.

[HEADING=1]The Story:[/HEADING]

In the 7000?s C.D. (City Date) an up soar in Mage birth?s erupted causing the Mage Boom, and the ratio of Regular Human?s and Mages were starting to change, Mages now were the majority and Regulars were the minority. All while the same time, the existence of Vampires, created by Professor Albon Von, where revealed to everyone, making the population of Vampires to also skyrocket. Vampires seeing their strength recognized, began to believe they?re the true heirs of the City, the superior race.

That?s when NAR (New Age Republic) came out of hiding. The secret underground group, had been secretly developing technology and advancing through the ages, while the outside City, stayed in the past. When they arrived outside with advanced technology, everyone was unmatched. NAR told Regulars that they would end the Mage Boom and restore order to those who deserve it.

Quickly the Regulars signed up, and in just under a week, NAR had taken complete control of the city. Mages despite being powerful, weren?t able to match the NAR?s ability to stop Magic and even repel it back at the Mages. While at the same time, fighting of the Vampires, who unlike Mages though, are more subtle and slightly more peaceful.

It is now 8348 C.D, Mage rebellions are rising, tyrants are forming up, Vampires are fighting for their right to oversee the city, and all hell is about to break loose.

Spoiler: NAR ? New Age Republic

During the early years of the City, a group of people moved underground, as it was the only place they had to go. From there, they rarely made contact with the outside and continued to build and advance. From the little they saw of the outside, they despised the Mages rule and hated to see how technology was stagnant. So they began to research all they could into every field until they outsmarted the outside brightest.

From there it was easy to advance with no rules, and with unlimited resources the City possess but unused. By 7000, they had the world?s first computer, by 7500, they had everything Modern Earth had. By 7900 they were advanced to the point where no one could fight them. That?s when the NAR came out of hiding and took control of the City.

Now they have a space station colony orbiting the planet.

There current President is: Destin Alamark.

Spoiler: The Mage Society

Formed soon after NAR rose, the remaining Mages thought it was best to stop fighting amongst themselves and form together to repel the NAR threat. Continually they expand, living in the darkest places of the City where the NAR cannot find them.

Many times they have attacked NAR facilities in riots and even killed thousands of them. This is where the Mage Society splits, as part of it believes the only way to achieve equality is through peace, the other through harsh ways.

There is no clear leader for the Mage Society.

For their symbol they adopted the original: Upper District (See Original City) symbol as the main rulers were Mages.

Spoiler: The Vampires

Back in 5242, during the first major City war, Professor Albon Von, was in a bit of a wreck and his district was going to fall. So in an attempt to secure that, he looked over old legends of ancient beasts, and saw Vampires. Being humanoid they seemed to be the easiest to create. Getting volunteers from families of his district, he began to experiment. Knowing full well what the side-effects could be.

At first he was just going to give them the strength of Vampires but decided to add some other parts to make it more ?authentic? but didn?t add things as foolish as: burning in the sun, and such things like that. They aren?t technically dead like the legends speak of. Their heart beats as normally, so does their blood flow, but their skin was modified to be paler to top it all off. They live for hundreds of years and so there outside appearance takes longer to age.

Now that Vampires are wide spread, more kinds of them have appeared, and they believe they?re the rightful rulers of the City and go around spreading the word and turning others into Vampires.

Like the Mage Society they have no clear leader nor a symbol as they technically aren?t a faction.

Now with the NAR, they use guns, here are they:

(unlike real life guns they?re all white instead of the color black or grey.)

-ARM-2 ? a rapid fire Assault Rifle.

-Magnum X-4 ? A powerful shotgun like Pistol.

-R70 ? Long range Sniper Rifle with a scope that can zoom in very far.

-G4X Destroyer ? A rapid rife grenade launcher.

-LMG-72 ? A light machine gun that can shoot regular and inferno rounds.

-H12 ? A powerful shotgun that can bring down walls.

-UMZ-22 ? A small sub-machine gun that is powerful and silent.

-Izer 33 ? A Longshot bazooka with an advanced targeting system and devastating hit.

Rare and costly, very few people have Cybernetics, mainly the military and some of the rich. They can be simply as new arms for strength, new legs, new eyes. Simple things as that. If your character has one, I will judge it.

Looks: 5 feet 6 inches. slightly overweight. Smooth, short brown hair. usually wears big trenchcoat, t-shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Personality: Calm and collected. Hard to anger but when angered, usually is accompanied by murderous intent.

Faction: Alone

Bio: Orphaned at the young age of 5, he was forced to raise himself after his parents died in a storm, leaving him behind with only an anti-tank knife from his father for self-defense, and a golden cross necklace from his mother for faith. He ran into a hermit's isolated cottage who turned out to be an old fashioned warrior. The old man became his sensei and trained him in various weapons ranging from katanas, to chakrams, to saffs. When his master died, Kaylik was the sole one who mourned for his passing, inheriting only an orange scarf from the old man. AS time went on, his use of meele weapons took most by suprise, giving him an element of surprise when he needed, but nonetheless, he was often outmatched by many guns. However, he eventually made his first kill, and it would be with the knife his fatehr had given him, defending a woman from several would-be rapists.

Several months after his first kill he found himself freezing to death on a snowy mountain range. He was saved though by a young woman with red hair who took him to her mountain village. There, he rested for several days, slowly falling for the woman. But one day bandits attacked and Kaylik defended the village. After the failed raid though, the entire bandit clan came and nearly succeeded in setting fire to the town. In his anger, Kaylik killed the entire bandit clan, his blade soaked in their blood, and the feeling gave him a euphoric feeling of ecstasy. While he saved the people, he saw who he was becoming; a blood-lusting, battle crazy, monster, and left the village, never telling the woman, the feelings he had developed for her.

5 years later, at the age of 21, Kaylik has struggled with the developing urges to kill. He maintains a facade of a calm appearance, but underneath, he hears whispers, telling him to kill, to sate his bloodlust, to enjoy the thrill. He has since taken to using a gun, as simply firing it off seems to sate the urges for a little while, and has made him proficient somewhat with handguns. Finally leaving the moutainous regions, he has descended to the city searching for purpose, and hopefully a distraction from the urges. The metropolotian areas are new to him, having grown up mainsly in the mountains, but as a result, he is stronger physically than many. However, having not had experience in dealing with such high population areas, he is often uneasy and is quick to draw his blade. For now, he simply seeks to find a purpose, a reason to exist.

Other Info: Has a soft spot for children and cats.

As a result, he is able to use of most handguns at a minimum level of proficiency. Highly proficient though at hand to hand combat and meele weapons such as staffs and blades. He roams the land, looking for purpose, never having settled for long in one place. His only possessions are an anti-tank knife from his father and a golden cross necklace from his mother. Because he never stays in one place for very long, he has never made 'friends' with anyone.

Hey Korten, hope this sheets acceptable. Took me a little while to come up with a bio for him, but I've finally got it. There is actually a lot more to this bio, but I don't want to put any of that out until the rp starts.

Name: Cyrus "Nightmare or Angel of Death" (has no formal last name and is constantly called Nightmare or Angel of Death depending on which Section he is in)

Age: 18 (and has been that way for a few years)

Race: Human

Section: Northern Section

Looks: Cyrus' most noticeable feature would have to be his bright red eyes and his spiky silver hair. Cyrus' eyes are like a cat's and his pupils are little more than slits. Cyrus' everyday appearance is unusual even for a vampire. Cyrus wears a suit of armor, yet it appears to be nothing more then a normal piece of clothing due to its insane ability to re-shape its-self to fit the wearer's body. The suit is made of dark black cloth-like material, and what appear to be bones outline the edges of the suit. They aren't bones however, it is a rare material that is extremely durable and very hard to destroy which is why Cyrus treasures his clothing. He can always be seen wearing a red scarf and clawed gauntlets, and he is rarely ever seen going anywhere without his broadsword, which is different from most due to its lack of a hilt.

Just in case anybody didn't want to read that paragraph on his looks, here is a picture:

Personality: Cyrus is usually a very quiet person except when angered. When angered he is known to bare his fangs, literally. Cyrus is a rash and short tempered man, made even more so by his current faction. Cyrus values the human life very little, and would rather see a million towns go up in flames rather than watch on of his comrades die. Cyrus is also very strong, even for a vampire, so most others avoid him.

Faction: Vampires

Bio: Cyrus was born into a rather wealthy family, and he was well looked after. He was pampered and all of his needs were taken care of without question. After a few years of living a sheltered life, Cyrus was allowed to go out into the other parts of the city, and see why he had it better then everyone else who lived there. He was not impressed, and he begged and pleaded with his father to help those who were less fortunate then them. His father of course refused, not believing in helping those who couldn't help themselves. Cyrus was furious and he swore to help others even if it meant giving up everything he had, and shortly after Cyrus ran away from home. Cyrus traveled north, eventually finding himself in a very poor city. Cyrus devoted the next few years to helping these unfortunate souls, and worked day in and day out to help them back on their feet. Despite everything Cyrus did for these people, they still didn't trust him and so one night while Cyrus slept they attacked him and left him in the cold to die.

Cyrus had just about given up hope when a man happened across him laying in a pile of snow that was now stained red with Cyrus' blood. The man reacted quickly, helping Cyrus to the nearest doctor and staying with him until he was well again. Cyrus was curious at first to why this man had helped him, but he was grateful so questions of who the man was and what he had done remained buried in Cyrus' mind. Eventually, one evening while everyone else was sleeping, the man came into Cyrus' room and began to speak with Cyrus. The man asked if Cyrus felt betrayed and if Cyrus' parents even cared about their son. Cyrus was furious at first that the man had asked such things, but he began to see the wisdom in the mans words, after all... if his parents had loved him why hadn't they searched for him in the three years he had been gone from home? The man gave Cyrus an option, Cyrus would be stronger than ever and he would be able to get revenge on the people who had hurt him the most. With new anger bubbling just below the surface, Cyrus unknowingly accepted the unthinkable. The man sunk sharp teeth deep into Cyrus' neck, so that even if he had wanted to scream he couldn't. The man was gone in the morning and all that was left for Cyrus to remember him was a large scar on his neck and a set of armor that had been laid out on the table for him.

Cyrus left the doctors quickly, with his new armor and a weird shaped weapon Cyrus went searching for the revenge he so craved. The small tribe was the first to be tracked down, and Cyrus was relentless. He slaughtered everyone, down to the last child. After it was done, he sat in the snow which was now stained with the blood of the innocent, contemplating his next move. During the battle he had found that he had a new hunger inside him, something that no food or water could satisfy but he wasn't willing to believe what he was just then. After a few months of travel, Cyrus finally arrived home to find that his family had forgotten about him. Not even pictures of when he was a child remained, and this sent Cyrus into a rage so terrible that the manor was not fit to be a house when he was done, and it was sealed off from the outside world. Cyrus had drained everyone of his family members dry, drinking their blood as if it were a glass of water to a parched man. He paused only a moment during the slaughter to notice his eyes had taken on a dark red hue and adapted to cat-like slits. He smiled a toothy smile and continued his slaughter until everyone in the manor was dead.

Waiting outside for Cyrus was the man who had saved him from death in the North. He offered Cyrus a place amongst the Vampires, and Cyrus happily accepted. He adopted the nickname Nightmare, and continues to work for the Council of Vampires to this day. His one true goal is to surpass his ancestor Damien Lier in power, and crush the Magi once and for all.

Other:
-Aside from the rulers of the Vampire, Cyrus is considered one of the strongest vampires. He is feared for his brutality when it comes down to battle.
-His ancestor is Damien Lier, one of the mages. While Cyrus doesn't commend his ancestor for working with mages, he doesn't despise him either.
-Has tried learning magic a number of times, but without an instructor his magic is erratic and can lash back at him with ten times the power he intended to use.

Personality: Alisa is strong-willed and light-hearted most of the time. She is able to handle most things on her own, but is always willing to let others help her. Though she has a tendency for when she gets mad, she really gets mad. One of her downsides.
Faction: NAR

Bio: Unlike many, Alisa has never been in the City, from the start when she was born it was in the confines of New Hope ? the NAR space-station above the world. From there she admired the world from above, it was beautiful as long as they didn?t see the continent still affected by the Dark God Magic. She would have gone down to the City, but due to it being costly she has yet to go.

In New Hope she went to school with many other children and grew up a fairly average life, except for being always two steps ahead of everyone. Being from the Gavech family, a family known for containing some of the brightest minds, she was no exception. Alisa could always outsmart anyone in her school and she retained bits of info, most others would forget and succeeded because of it.

Seeing problems in the world, once she got out of High School, she immediately began to prepare for the NAR evaluation tests so she could then work in the Computer Intel Department or CID and help stabilize the City.

Personality: Luc is someone who fights for a cause, he wants this war between the factions to end. He can be rather outspoken which gets him into trouble much more than he would like to be but he feels that it is necessary. Luc is also rather personable, even though he is rather reserved and quiet, those who he does actually talk to respect him a great deal and are happy to help him.

Bio: Luc was born on the NAR space station, he was always athletic and showed to those around him that he was competent and had an uncanny ability to lead and command others. When he was just 20 years old he was approached by a NAR recruitment officer and was asked if he would like to help his fellow man. Luc jumped at the opportunity and signed up for training as soon as he could. Luc excelled at almost everything they could throw at him and was the top student in his garrison and almost the top student in the entire company. Luc was a crack shot with a rifle so it was only natural that he chose to become a sniper, that way he could support his squad from afar and direct them from the shadows.

At 21 Luc had completed his training and was finally being shipped to what they had called "The City". Luc's orders were to lead his own special squad to "Neutralize the mage and vampire threat" When Luc arrived in The City, he could barely believe the state that it was in. It was a catastrophic he couldn't believe how bad it was. He never could have imagined it was this bad down here. But it steeled his resolve to stop the madness and the chaos, he vowed that he would help put an end to all the torment in The City.

Something happened to Luc a few weeks ago, while out on a scouting mission he was ambushed by a small group of vampires, even with his skills with his pistol and knife he was no match for the vampires, they soon overwhelmed Luc and just before they were about to kill him Luc snapped. A colourful aura began to surround and envelop him, he felt renewed and threw the vampires off of him, he looked at one and mindlessly put up his hand and the beast burst into flames. The other vampires looked at Luc in awe as they had never seen a NAR soldier who could wield magic before, so they scattered. But before they could get anywhere Luc had set them all ablaze and as they burned to cinders he passed out.

Other info: Luc has a high powered R70, a Long range Sniper Rifle with a scope that can zoom in very far and is flawlessly accurate, he also carries with him a modified Magnum X-4, A powerful shotgun like Pistol. Good, but one small change. the City being in the bad state. It is, in Future City, but not the whole thing. Where NAR controls, the city is very high tech and peaceful. Which is the majority of the city.

Various parts of the South, as it still hasn't really stabalized since the original City. Make up a district since I haven't mentioned many in the South.
