Every gamer comes from somewhere. Whether you've been playing games since you were a kid, or were introduced to it later in life - What game got you hooked on gaming? The one that you started playing the minute you got home from school and didn't stop until midnight. For bonus points: Who introduced you to it, and do you still play it?

That game for me was Wizardry 7, released in 1992, by Sirtech. Before I could play the game myself, I sat with my dad at our old DOS computer and begged to be allowed to press the movement buttons. I dug that PC (yes, I still have it) out of the basement the other day in order to replay it - and still, to this day, have not actually beaten the game.

So - What game did you grow up on?

Mechwarrior 2. Got me interested into Battletech, which interested me in Physics and machinery, which got me to making lasers and gauss weapons...

You know what? I just realized that if I speak more the CIA might pay me a visit.

I'm not sure which one I played first, I think it was either Age of Empires 2 or Nox(I recently started playing Nox again).

Even though it was around '95, I started playing my grandparents NES very casually. Eventually, I played Civilization II, Starcraft, and The Neverhood, which turned gaming into my main hobby.

I grew up on Call of Duty. I somewhat regret it. But it had positive side. ^_^
That was my first "real" game. That and the Sims. I mean, I played like Mario when I was younger, but my first real game that wasn't just a casual game was Call of Duty. I loved it.

King's Quest (1987) - I was four, and I played it on my Dads computer. I could barely play it back then, but I've finished all three main versions since.

I started in 99' when my friend lent me a copy of Starcraft. I played it and was all like "wowz dis game iz awzome!!11!!1!" (I was young don't judge me)

After that I was hooked and I still am playing Starcraft to this day. But they need to release the next one I don't want it to be the next Duke Nukem Forever or Chinese Democracy.

Started with the Megadrive with games like Sonic, Streets of Rage, mega-lo-mania and flashback. Then moved onto PS1 with Metal Gear, Tekken 2, Command and Conquor. Then came the dreamcast with Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia, Powerstone 2 and Chu Chu Rocket. Good old days.

Star Trek Voyger: Elite Force. Aaahh, nostalgia. I used to play the tutorial level over, and over, and over, and over, while sitting on my dad's lap. I'd be in charge of the mouse and spacebar, and he'd control movement :)

Yes! Another classic RPG game. I was beginning to feel old.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, and Age of Mythology both got me into more mainstream gaming. I still play Alpha Centauri obsessively.
