We all remember our younger days with a certain fondness. These 'rose tinted glasses' can affect our view on our games as well, but that didn't stop us from enjoying them when we were younger. What gaming-related thing do you remember from your childhood?

Does anyone else remember Humongous Entertainment? I loved their games as a kid: Freddi the Fish and Putt-Putt specifically. Good times... good times...

Humongous entertainment? Did they make backyard baseball? That game was awesome.

I really liked the Yukon Trail, it was a fun game when I was a kid.

Ah yes, I remember those edu-games. Never played them but some of them did come bundled with a PC my family had a long time ago. I was too old for those, I had stuff like Word Munchers and Number Munchers and the Super Solvers games.

My fondest gaming memory has to be playing the original Prince of Persia demo over and over and over again because I couldn't talk my dad into getting me the full version and the guy at Radio Shack gave me a copy of the demo for free. That, and Wolfenstien 3D Shareware, and Speedball.

Putt-Putt saves the Zoo was one of my favorite games as a kid! But my absolute favorite was one with a fish in it, so I'm assuming it's the one you posted. Strange that I couldn't remember the name though. I just remember he was some sort of crime-solving fish or something.

Still, Spyro remains my most vivid indulgence in videogame-related nostalgia.

I have some amazing memories of taking turns with my best friend playing Donkey Kong Country when I was about 10. Man that game was awesome.

I loved Lemmingz when I was a kid, even though playing through it the first time I really was a massive sadist. But then I redeemed myself and worked towards their benefit once again.

Holy Sheet, I remember this one.
Now I want to mow these lawns again.

My best childhood memories include either Contra on a NES knock-off, or Metal Slug on arcades, or Prince of Persia 1 on a PC(monochromatic - F YEAH)..

Loved Banjo Kazooie. Such an odd concept, such an epic game.
And a quick question: can anyone tell me how to start a thread? For some reason I can't figure it out, and I have a feeling it's blatantly obvious which will inevitably result in my eventual embarassment.

Ah yeah... good old nostalgia... sigh. Well i still rate X-Com: Enemy Unknown as one of the best games EVER. Playing that by night as a small boy (ah well, i was ten or twelve or so). It had such a great atmosphere. But there are some games which i remember fondly. (And which addicted me slowly to gaming *g*)

My first game was Chex Quest, it was a Doom clone that was pack into cereal boxes, that game was so cool. You play a half human half Chex thing who goes around killing snot piles whose name I forget. Not to long ago, I bought Doom on Live Arcade, relived some old times.

I remember the many hours spent playing Commander Keen, Lode Runner, and the Comanche series. I never got past the first levels in Commander Keen and Comanche, but I played them over and over again.

Ninja Gaiden for the NES. Get used to seeing the continue screen... a lot. I've never felt as satisfying a sense of accomplishment as I didn't when I beat the first one. Even when I graduated
