EPIC released yesterday some footage of the new GoW2 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33775.html
My biggest concern with the new GoW is that to me it looks like they just end up doing the same as they did last time, only with minor changes and new levels. What pissed me off to an extreme degree in the old game, were those sections where you had to split up, and the subsequent badly placed checkpoints. I've been playing the original for some time with my friend on Co-op to get all the collectibles, and it's really i ***** playing the same section over and over again if one dies, especially since you have to listen to the same lame dialogue over and over.
A thing that really got me interested in the universe set up in the previous game was the relations with the stranded, who seemed to despise the Gears for some reason. I was really positively surprised by this, and thought it was a nice addition to the otherwise pretty simple story (get plot device, activate plot device that turn out not to work, then go somewhere and pickup another plot device, and finally ride a gaint train into some water to fire some missiles). I liked the feeling of being called a fascist and a pig by the stranded, mainly because it's nice to see some rivalry between the humans and not the old, everybody round up behind the people believing they're saving the world.
All in All I look forward to the game, I just fear that it's "just" a pretty little sequel with no real changes to it but a few weapons and maps.
