THE GRAND GAMER CHALLENGE

Welcome lost lambs to the Grand Gamer monastery, a house of piety and respect for this our most beloved entertainment. You wonder what our purpose is?

We, the monks of the Grand Gamer Challenge open our doors to the gamer of a specific sort. The kind that dedicates a room, or hard drive, to their collection. The kind who exists in a backlogged dungeonous realm equal to the horrors of Isaac and who have strayed from the path of 'finish the damned game already.' Here at the monastery we assist those who seek to return to the path of righteousness, of completion, of 'finally getting your money's worth.'

You are welcome to join us of course, such is the purpose of the Grand Gamer Challenge. Much the same as monks of old who threw away their wordly possessions for enlightenment our vows are both simple, and yet very difficult for most.

-Our Vows-

-Thou shalt look upon thine collection, and mark the release of each game. And thou shallt place those games in chronological order (in a database file, .txt, on a scrap of paper, etc.).
-Thou shalt play thy games in said order. Thou dissavowest the sin of touching the 'newest release' until thine backlog has caught up to it.
-Thou games must be real and untainted (no emulators/roms/isos/etc.).

-Amnesties-

-Thou art allowed to play more than one game as long as they be chronological neighbors.
-Thou art allowed to skip no more than tree games in your order in a row.
-Multiplayer components of games (no matter their chronological placement) are exempt, as are MMOs, and games with no clearly defined ending such is Tetris or Audiosurf.
-Thou art allowed to narrow and specialise your backlog (i.e. nothing older than NES, only rpgs, only fps, etc.)

Do you believe yourself virtuous and strong of spirit enough to join our order? I warn thee, many have tried, few have succeeded. Gaming enlightenment is not so easily obtained. I for example shall start at the release of the NES and proceed from there with a focus on pitfall patformers, rpgs, and action/adventure games.

What say you?

TL/DR Translation: Basically, it's an idea I had, plan to carry through, maybe even post some recordings, and wondered if anyone else would be interested in 'playing along.' Could even connect it to Child's Play charity/EFF donations such as 'User xiby took 130 hours to complete Deadly Towers, now match that in donations.' Thoughts? Opinions?

First thought: It should be "thou", not "though".

Second thought: Good Lord, my list would be far too long. I've got way too many games... oh god... so many games...

I get distracted and bored of certain things after a while, that's why my backlog is so large at the moment. It's actually pretty rare that a game keeps me engrossed from the beginning to the end without me playing another game at some point in between. Mass Effect 3 was probably the last one that did. So me trying to do this would... end horribly.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that.
I got over 200 games on Steam alone, along with the summer sales, and a big enough backlog already.

On the first: Fixed.

On the second: I'm exactly like that, but with my most recent bout of spending (curse you steam summer sale) it kind of hit me just how out of control it's gotten. My backlog is well over 500 games now.

I think that I'll actually be recording myself doing this too. Peer pressure for the greater good? Harder to just quit in that situation after all.
