When a video game repeats certain songs sufficiently frequently, players of that game will associate the song with the game whenever they hear it regardless of circumstance. (Thank you tv tropes!) Anyway have you ever been affected by it and what song/game did it. me personally I can't play the final countdown or take on me without thinking of Saints Row 2 or The Message, 99 red ballon's, or Video killed the Radio star, without thinking of Vice City

Happened once, and it was with MLB 07: The Show.

This was pretty much the only song on the soundtrack I liked, and therefore is the one I associated with the game.

Every time I hear this song, all I can think about is Crazy Taxi. I don't really like the song to be honest, but still, good memories.

I played Minecraft one day when my mom had a country song on a loop...

Dammit mom, couldn't you have put on headphones or something? Now I can't play Minecraft without hearing country in my head.

I also can't play Bioshock without thinking of "I Think I'm Paranoid" by Garbage. Yet another case of "family background music polluting my playing).

Actually, GTA is exactly what did this to me. Every time I hear I Wear My Sunglasses At Night all I can picture is a drive by shooting.

Several songs with Burnout 3. While there was some trash on there, I did pick up a few songs. The Von Bondies' C'mon C'mon, The Mudmen's Animal, and a few others not coming to mind.

This isn't for a game, I'm pretty sure that everyone in my generation instantly thinks of Shrek whenever they hear that one Smashmouth song; admit it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. To a lesser extent, the Canabalt theme instantly makes me think of fleeing in terrified desperation in the coolest way possible, but it's not really used outside the game so I guess it doesn't count.
