Sandusky, Ohio (northern Ohio) might be a little bit of a drive, but Cedar Point is there. Ann Arbor and Detroit shouldn't be too far away, so if you don't mind watching sports then there's that to do. Just be weary of Detroit, the city is notoriously dangerous for a reason, though, I've been there a few times and the worst I saw was a couple drunk guys yelling at each other after a Lions game, so don't be so concerned as to think it is an automatic death trap (just as close as any single city will come to being one in this nation).
In general, most of the fun things to do in Michigan are outdoors-related. Hunting and fishing are popular, though I'm not sure of any good fishing spots near Hudson. There are also plenty of nature trails and such around the state. Overall, the best advice I can give is to make friends and find stuff to do with them. That's really all Michigan has to offer in terms of enjoyment.
(Sorry if I sound bleak with that last comment, but living in Orlando for twelve years really makes most places look boring in comparison).
Also, if Jackson isn't too far of a drive for you, they have a couple nice parks, some good nature trails, a couple decent museums (though don't expect too much), and a pretty good miniature golf course.
