We all know them, movies that are so terrible, so poorly thought out, that they actually reset at a certain point and start becoming good again. What movie fits that bill for you? I'm going to have to put forward "The Room"

Mine would be Ninja Terminator. It's so bad. But it has Richard Harrison, different colured ninjas and the infamous Garfield phone.

I've only ever spoken to one other person who has watched and enjoyed the Final Fantasy movie - Advent Children.

I can see how the movie isn't good and is basically fan-service, but I'm a fan, so I guess that worked for me. I'm still pretty sure it's a terrible film.

To be honest, I even liked The Spirits Within...

The Core.

So bad it's absolutely amazing. The plot is stupid, the physics are ridiculous, the whole thing looks like a no-budget SyFy thing... and then you note Delroy Lindo, and Aaron Eckhart, and Hilary Swank, and you realise that they all know how bad it is as well and they play the whole thing for every laugh they can get out of it. And they get plenty.

So many to choose from...

How about Deathbed: The Bed That Eats [People].

For the longest time, I thought this was a joke told by Patton Oswald, only for one of my friends (who is an aficionado in schlock) not only had heard of this movie, he had it on DVD. I borrowed it one night and I never been the same since.

Recently a movie came out that is really trying to go for the title. It is one of those movies where as some point some animator turned to another and said, "This shit can't be salvaged."

May I present... Foodfight!

I mean my god. When I first saw this, I didn't want to believe it was happening. But as soon as I saw a DVD, I snatched that shit up. It has got it all. A voice cast that is not only so dated that Charlie Sheen is the most relevant actor on the list, but it is a cast that is so uninterested in the proceedings Microsoft Sam could have given a more emotive performance. Animation so stilted, it looks like the only direction the actors were given was "Eh, just emote a little." Graphics so ugly and dated that I have seen PS1 games with better character models. It is such surreal experience.

Honorable Mentions:
Gingerdead Man 1,2,& 3
Troll 2
Anything with Nicholas Cage

There is all the Asylum movies, they kind of specialized in mockbuster and of course there is Bollywood. This combat is not even that crazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUYa5aTdjfI

This is a total no brainer! In The Name Of The King!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0LE5lMh7QI
So loosely based on a computer game that it makes the super mario bros movie look faithful to it's source material, and King Burt Reynolds!!! He phones this movie in soooooooooo hard you feel bad for Uwe Bol paying him.

The cast in the movie just needs to be seen to believe it, Jason Statham, John Rhys-Davies, Ron Perlman, Claire Forlani and Ray Liotta!

The movie sucks harder than a rent boy that hasn't eaten in a week, yet it's like watching a train wreck! You just can't take your eyes off it.

The Nic Cage remake of The Wicker man is not a good movie, it's not even a movie that's so bad it's good.

The narrative barely makes sense, the direction is godawful, and of course the acting is just astonishingly poor.
But it plays out in a manner that's just fascinating to watch.

Any Syfy Original Movie is almost too easy of a pick. Examples are Sharktopus, Sharknado, Dinocroc vs. Supergator, Dragon Fighter, Alien Hunter... & the list goes on & on & on, bad movie after bad movie. Porn has better acting & plot.

If we're talking about actually theatrical releases, it has to be "Movie 43". Oh yeah NSFW.

Some of the skits did get a mild laugh out of me, but after about 30 minutes it just got boring & I turned it off. The "offensive" humor wasn't the problem, I loved the Jackass movies & things like that, it was just a bad movie. I feel sorry for anyone that paid money to see the thing.

Ordinarily I give Asylum movies a pass because calling one of them "worst movie ever made" would be like shooting fish in a barrel that is filled with acid and I've already shot them anyway. Sharknado is, nonetheless, a fine contender for the title.

I'm gonna vote for The Room. A lot of "So bad it's good movies" get really boring at times. Not The Room. Every single scene of that movie has something to laugh at.

Also, I have to give an honourable mention to "The Last Airbender". While not really "hilariously bad", I find a sort of morbid fascination with everything it messed up.

Another vote for The Room. That film is a masterpiece for all the wrong reasons. This quote was very popular with my friends at university:

I'm gonna buck the "The Room" trend and instead nominate "Birdemic: Shock and Terror".

It leaps past the "they just didn't care" line and goes right to "it's a wonder they knew which end of the camera to point at the 'actors'".

What? No one has mentioned Hard Ticket to Hawaii yet? It's such a beautiful movie. A true masterpiece.

It has some 'adult content' but if you don't mind that kind of stuff, then definitely go watch it!

I went to see that with a friend because Roger Ebert - a man with over half a century's worth of seeing five hundred movies a year (yes, that's one and a half per DAY) - said it was the worst movie he'd ever seen. And trust me, I've seen way worse than that. "Movie 43" is as much an auteur project as Michael Bay's magnum opus "Bad Boys 2" or M Night Shyamalan's "Lady in the Water". Each of which provides a startling insight into the minds of their creators that you'd honestly never get anywhere else. There's a certain horrified fascination in watching these movies.

Also you missed so much by stopping early! You missed the Halle Berry scene, which is a doozy. (Yes, "Movie 43" stars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Chloe Moretz, Elizabeth Banks, Kate Winsley, and Kristen Bell. I'm utterly baffled by the level of talent in this movie. Well, except for Kristen Bell... to this day I haven't seen a movie of hers that I've come close to liking, yet her television work is superb. I wish she'd get a better agent.) Come to think of it, "Movie 43" caters for every taste imaginable in vomit-inducing imagery: botched plastic surgery, menstruation leakage, scat explosions, chin-testacles, dwarf torture; you name it, this movie probably has it. And actually this kinda makes it bearable - it's so varied in its awfulness, it almost manages to be fascinating about it. Almost.

As for MY favorite bad movies... oh, so many choices. I'm ruling out films like "Road House", because although that has some fantastically quotable lines ("Welcome to my trophy room. The only thing missing is your ass!") it's clearly meant to be doing exactly what it's doing. You're not meant to take it seriously. I'm ruling out things like "Attack of the killer tomatoes" for the same reason. It's meant to be dumb, guys.

In terms of films that take themselves utterly seriously but fall hilariously flat... "Code Hunters" would be a great choice; it's endlessly quotable and the plot is just so damn silly. "Urban Legend" is another one (my favorite line from this teen slasher whodunnit where you'll guess who the killer is a third of the way in despite the fact that there are literally zero clues pointing at him / her: "I guess I am a little nutty." Says the killer, while preparing to remove a victim's organs with scalpel and no anaesthetic. That film's credits include four people on "dialogue checking" duty, and I can only imagine that none of them ever found work again.) "Urban Legend: Final Cut" is another great one. It has just so many awesome moments in it.

The Wicker Man

Honestly, it gets just about everything wrong about how to build tension and suspense, truly stupid.

But if it were on TV right now, I would watch it. Nobody throws a temper tantrum like Nick Cage.

Ah i see that Diddy_Mao already mentioned it. Good stuff.

Doom. I fucking love Doom. Just because of how bad it is. It makes me happy just watching it and giggling at the Rock and Karl Urban hurling scenery at each other. I love it.

There are movies that are technically 'worse', but in terms of sheer entertainment value, definitely 'Riki-oh: The Story of Ricky".

It's this insanely bad Hong Kong flick based on a manga that has often been described as 'gore-fu' for how insanely violent it is. The main character is so strong that he literally punches through people. It would be kind of brutal if the special effects weren't so hysterically awful. It also features (amongst other bizarre and awesome things):

-An evil warden (the whole movie takes place in a prison) who has a glass eye that he keeps breath mints in.

-A character named "Tarzan"

-They're in a men's prison, yet one of the main inmate characters is clearly a woman, and absolutely no explanation is given as to why.

-One of the villains transforms into an ogre at one point (again, with no explanation given).

-A gun that makes people balloon up and explode (again, no explanation)

-a scene where Ricky reattaches the tendons in his arm...WITH HIS TEETH.

If that last one isn't enough to get you to watch it, then I give up.
