One of my favorites. I always was always "doing it wrong" but it's not like I actually cared how many people I killed. Opinions on it?

I tried Blood Money. It wasn't really for me.

Gave it a fair chance but got bored after the suburbs mission and gave up.

Ok, not the most elaborate thread but sure. The first one I didn't like at all, but the second and forth are two of my favorite games ever.

I've only played Blood Money and that was a fairly enjoyable game.
Loved trying to get "Silent Assassin" on all of the levels, was a good challenge to see, and find, the different ways you could kill the target and escape without even firing a shot.

I should play it again soon, actually. See if I'm still good at it.

'You better watch out' mission from Blood Money

Hnggggggggggggg.

I always loved shooting out the bottom of the glass jacuzzi. Best level ever. I usually go on a knife murder spree in the Santa Claus outfit.

I have been convinced to give it a try. The video I saw of one of the missions looks pretty fucking funny.

Played them all. Contracts was by far my favorite of the series because it had the best levels of Hitman: Codename 47 and some pretty neat new ones too.

Looking forward to E3, hoping they'll show more of Hitman Absolution other than this teaser trailer:

Loved the second, with some levels finished with the rating of silent assassin, liked the third one and did most levels with the rating of silent assassin, disliked a lot of Blood Money, it felt too linear, didnt even finished.

The second one felt more open and fun overall, the third one had a great atmosphere but I ended up doing the missions in the same way since they werent extremely hard.

It was fun to go back to other levels and kill people in the most overt way and get the "Psychopath" rating.

The funny thing is, with Hitman it isn't really a shooter game. It is more like sim murderer. I say this not in a bad way, but if you want to just gun down the whole place it is usually easy. The hard part is doing it with style. Granted the fun part is often running around stabbing everyone because you messed up.

Hitman: Codename 47 was absolute balls. Maybe playing it so long after it came out ruined it for me, but I just did not enjoy it. I did, in fact, love the concept, so I decided to play the rest. Silent Assassin had too many missions that involved me not actually being an assassin, but sneaking through various overly large places without really doing much, but the actual assassinations that were there were very good.

I couldn't play Contracts. After playing the first mission involving traveling through the sex/drug lair of some extremely obese crime lord, discovering a murderous butcher, and having to carry a dead girl's severed arm with me out of the building, I decided it wasn't for me. Finally, I played Blood Money and I fell in love with it. It was a game composed entirely of the missions I actually liked in Silent Assassin and it was really quite challenging. It made me feel like 47 was really a hitman instead of just some goon in a suit. As a series, I love the concept, I love the character, and I love the last game, but all-in-all the first three fall pretty flat.

But... but... you can dress up as a clown, blow up the pool boy, get chatted up by the wife, strangle the pervert FBI agent, poison the donuts, and tranquilise the dog with an air rifle from a tree house!

OT: Blood Money is fantastic, really enjoyed Silent Assassin although the AI was a bit too erratic back then. Contracts was fucking dull.

Hitman: Blood Money was the kind of game where I failed the tutorial. Because I killed everyone.

Never been one for stealth games.

I did all of that, and also blew up the bikini clad bimbo with the barbecue, disposed of the garbage man in his own truck and killed the nosy neighbour with the hedge clippers... dunno why but it just felt kinda boring to me.

I never played the first one, but I loved Silent Assassin. Or half of it, anyway. Quite a few of the missions didn't interest me at all, but I spent so long replaying the ones I did enjoy - like Invitation to a party - that I didn't care.

Contracts I really didn't enjoy, because the tone of it bothered me and I just didn't have fun playing it. Blood Money was good, and I enjoyed every stage as I was playing it, but for some reason it didn't make me want to go and find new ways to finish the missions like Silent Assassin did.

I'm looking forward to Absolution, and i'm hoping that it'll be excellent.

Also, hello folks - i'm new here.

I think Hitman's developers need to recognize that it's more of a puzzle game - one that, if trial and error were easier to pull off, could actually be really fun. You are here, you have several options of how to get to the next room; distract the guard, shoot him, or disguise as a delivery boy and hide your gun in the crate of milk you're carrying.

It's just that executing on those plans sometimes hits little technical glitches, as with a guard catching you out of the corner of his eye, or an NPC randomly going berserk and running away screaming despite seeing nothing violent.

I think the game would be much more fun if it forced you along the sneaky path. For starters, take away all the guns. ALL. OF. THEM. Give you plenty of poison to apply to food / drinks, make it easier to know when someone is looking your way, etc.

The Hitman games are... over-elaborate in the controls. They need to work on that before they try to appeal to me. Though I've not played one in a while to be fair. I want the ability to be an unstoppable bad-ass who can shoot shit up if I want to be. Stealth is fun, but sometimes you've just got to shoot something.

Hitman 1: Ok game with a lot of flaws
Hitman 2: Amazingly well done, with great locations and with a nice "feel" to it
Hitman 3: Average sequel with good missions but pretty forgetable
Hitman 4: Best of the series with great gameplay and features

Yeah i really like the series
