Whatever, just wash your hands.
well monster hunter tri comes out next week
sounds like its got some solid multiplayer which is something Ive wanted to try out on the wii, I heard that it doesnt even need those stupid friend codes, altho thats one of those things that Ill have to see.
So how many of the escapist are planning on chopping up giant monsters for gear?

I'll be getting this monster of a game on it's release date, probably, along with my brother. While I haven't really played much monster hunter before, it's multiplayer sounds like it'll be quite the trit.

Normally I wouldn't give this game a second glance(really, I hate the combat in these games) but this one looks really really good.......gah, I dunno. I'll see what other games come out and then i'll decide if i should get it or not.
p.s
WTF was that thing at the end!? It ate the ship!

Always been interested in this series. I might have to get this.
Not looking too fond of the water sections though.

Been waiting for this game for years. Got into the series with the first Monster Hunter on PS2 and then probably put 500 hours in between the two hand held ports. This should be a great game and like I said I've looked forward to it for a long time.

This will be my first entry into the series. I watched my mates play it on their PSPs and it looks like it isn't just your generic slash em up. Classic controller pro ftw.

yeah Im a bit worried about the water parts too since water and games tend to end up as shit together, altho sometimes it works so Im hoping thats how it will be in this one

Tell me more about this game series (because I can't be bothered to visit wiki)? Tell me why I should be interested?

It looks like Phantasy Star Online but with less colour. But to be compared in the same breathe as PSO is no bad thing.

I'm thinking I'll wait till the PSP version comes out. That way I can mess around with the gunlance. Although I do want to play this on a larger screen...

It would seem I have reached an impasse with myself.

I'm just worried about the water sections because huge freaking serpent thingies that can come at me from every angle are scarie than those that can attack me from the floor or sky.

well its got kind of an mmo vibe too it in a way, there is alot of stuff to do and things to collect, I played the hell out of one of the psp ones but I got to the point when its just not fun single player and since this one should have much better multi going for it Im sold on it. As a series monster hunter has always been kinda iffy, its one of those love it or hate it kinda games, control wise its kinda clunky altho that might have been because I played it on the psp and the psp is kinda clunky but its really rewarding when you get the hang of it and start chopping off body parts to make awesome weapons and armor, unlike alot of games monsters dont drop items, you skin and gut them to make your gear and its pretty cool getting to see your char start to resemble what you got your stuff from. the flow of the game at least the other one I played was be in town, get quest to gather or kill or do something special and then go out into an area with smaller monsters you can kill and skin and lots of other things you can collect to use in parts for making items and such then kill said big monster or collect so and so. Tri looks like it adds even more stuff to the formula like some of the vid Ive seen show chars shooting cannons from the side of a ship at a really giant monster and that looks cool. Whew, wordy.

Don't forget that there's no leveling system in the MH series, all stats and abilities are based on the equipment that you make. The only real resemblance to PSO is that it is instanced (sort of) but you take quests/missions in order to access area, though from what I've heard you don't need to take up a mission for strictly gathering quests.

That said I can't friggin wait for this. Also, they already have Portable 3 in the works, it's been said that they're already half done with it.
