Ok so I just picked up The Last Remnant for 20 bucks and I read a review on ign when I got home that just annihilated it. Alot of my friends were ragging on it too. I played it and actually found it to be rather enjoyable. There were a few technical shortcomings but they didn't hold the game back too much. I was just wondering, if any of you out there hate it could you enlighten me as to why?

I played it for a while and got up to the Seige of...Koniesndorff or something and I did find it enjoyable. The combat system was good, the group idea was a pretty good idea as was the QTE's during combat so you aren't just watching the action. My only real gripe with it is the voice acting. Davide Nassau and Rush...my God.

I didn't have any gripes with the game as a whole, even the voice acting was good (though the Unreal Engine gave the game problems). The battle system was admittedly so deep it probably needed its own separate 300 page strategy guide though.

I haven't played much of it, but the technical issues and Godawful voice acting are a pretty serious put-off. I still plan on going back to it at some point though.

The voice acting is terrible that's true but that is forgivable for me. And a tip for the tech problems. If you have a 360 install it to the hard drive. Removes most of the lagging.

I found it to be quite good actually, the battle system was very intresting though it was quite confusing and it was hard to get a grip of it (especially the larger scale battles). The voice acting ranged between decent to downright poor but that's a pretty minor complaint. The story was pretty clitche but that's to be expected from a japanese roleplaying game i suppose. I have heard that the Pc version is so much superior to the 360 version (that of which has terrible lag problems with or without having the game on your harddrive though it literally is unplayable if you don't have it on it though) but i don't have a good enough laptop for it though which blows because i really want to play it again.

The main guy was annoying. I couldn't get into the game because that guy just grated.

But the battle system was good. I suppose other then that Rush dude, my other gripe would be how horrific the boss battles were if you made the mistake of leveling up and doing too many side quests. It's awful to fight a boss for going on an hour only to die at the end and have to start all over again. And when you look up what you are doing wrong, to find out that all the guides are like:

Here's how you beat big boss x: Blah blah blah

If you leveled up... sorry dude, you're up a creek without a paddle.

You call a 6.8 rating annihilated? I'll have you know, this means above average, with 7 meaning 'good'.
These days, anything below a 9.5 means that it was despised.

And I don't go by the numbers they give. I actually read the review to see what beefs they had with it. The whole tone of the review was "dont play this game, it is horrible".
