WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT!

So, having seen the film yesterday, I now feel the need to tell EVERYONE how amazing it is. The characters and animation being the two highlights for me, I honestly cant remember liking a family film this much. I was constantly laughing throughout the film and the ending was surprising feels worthy to boot. Its definitely up there with Toy Story for me.

But at any rate, enough of me sprouting blind praise, what do YOU think of the film?

I thought it was hilarious. The opening scene got a few laughs but it also made me wonder what the hell was even going on. Then things started to happen. I'll say this, I can't remember the last time a comedy made me laugh so much, and there wasn't a moment it didn't have my attention.

little off topic: since I went to a 2PM screening on the day it came out, I was the only one in my screening. For the better, since no one was going to be bothered with my laughter or vice verse.

Went to see it with my girlfriend last night and suffice to say we both thoroughly enjoyed it! From start to finish it was brilliant and MovieBob wasn't kidding about that 3rd act.

Obligatory awesome song from the film;

I enjoyed it, it wasn't the greatest nor is it the worst (it could be dvd purchase worthy as I only buy films that I liked, maybe when it is cheap). I admit I haven't been to watch a U film at the cinema since that last U rated Pixar film (no I haven't watched Frozen).

One of the things I liked about it is some of the jokes was being played on itself (they couldn't find Ennet cos he had the same generic yellow faces). In a way it was abit like Who Frame Rogar Rabbit/ Wreck It Ralph for that cameo scene per say eventhought it wasn't a true portrayal on those characters but none the less it was funny seeing Gandalf and Dumbledore together.

Also it was abit nostalgia when they shown some of the olden Lego sets in that realm scene (shame that was the only scene with the Bionicle in it) and Benny being a called back to the old spaceship sets they used to have in the 90's.

Lastly, I want Uni-Kitty now!

Yeah I loved the song too, it's so upbeat and catchy eventhough I hate the dubstep part in the song (is there a version without the dubstep?).

I really liked it except for the ending.

I don't know why but the live action stuff rubbed me the wrong way. It's probably because I just really don't like children, and I really dislike the vast majority of child actors in movies. I also thought that the moral or message of the story was kind of hamfisted and didn't really work as well as the writers thought it did, but then again, that might be because I'm an adult and a child would have been blown away.

Anyway, I thought that the rest of the movie was really clever, and I immensely enjoyed all the characters, especially Batman and Unikitty. I had a huge grin on my face during the entire thing, and even when a scene didn't quite work for me I could always understand why it was there and exactly what the writers were going for.

I'm going to paste what I said in MovieBob's review last week.

It's been forever since I watched a movie that I dreaded to see the ending of. A movie so engaging and full of such a rich cast of characters that I never wanted them to stop interacting with each other and get into more misadventures.

This movie did that. When I smelled the end, right when the movie was hitting you with the emotional moment of childlike creativity vs. adult conformity, I really got sad. I wanted the ragtag team to get into more sidetracks and mishaps and prolong the plot for as long as it could, to see every single person interact with everything there could be (every character, all of them were great), but of course it was a kid's show and its half hour was up.

It's only February and I really, really doubt anything can top this movie to size up as my movie of the year. It's by far my favorite 'fun for the whole family' movie, I can't say anything Pixar made can compare to this movie.

And Liam Neeson absolutely nailed the role of Bad Cop, but of course every single character couldn't have been done better.

Loved Princess Uni-Kitty.

My roommate and I went and saw it last night. We both loved every second of it. From the little cameos (you know the ones) to the humor, we were both laughing all the way through.

I too, was kind of sad when the ending finally came, as I didn't really want to leave quite yet. Still though, other than what has already been said, it deserves all of the recognition that it has been getting.
