Ok, so this is generally at people with first hand experiences with how the irish local-accents change every 50 miles or so.. With soo much slang and often disregard for conventional grammer.
Its just something i've been discussing today. But onto the topic:

What do you guys think is the WORSE irish accent.. Most annoying, most uncompre-fkn-hendible? Or smtn that's just a pet peeve.

Me... A 'Derry-cultie' accent, to anyone not familiar with it, is damn near impossible to make out. Imagine you're having a social time with two people, one you can understand grand, and the other one speaking what actually sounds like Dutch to me. A pain.

Most annoying? Smtn I call a Dublin-yobhead accent. with their nasal 'bleedin''s and thick grammer.. it just kills me.. But at least i know what that yobhead is saying to me! xD

I hope this isn't seen as too critical <3

I remember watching that old Irish film, The Field. Can anyone? ANYONE!! understand what the old man is saying?.

i live in Cork, the accents are..okay?. But i cant stand some of the words people use. Sham, Boir, their insistance on saying Loik instead of like, Jesus.

Seriously, I've had a person from Belfast say to me 'Do you want some tea?' in the same tone you'd use when you were about to kill someone!

OP: I would have said Cork, but dammit, your accent convinced me otherwise.
That's a nice dooooog yew have... ... with it's waggy tail en aalllll~ >:) [ /refference]

Yeah I don't have a strong Cork accent... trust me on this.... It's like they're trying
to sing to you xD

But I'm glad to hear that people agree with the northern/derry/belfastish accents being the ones xD

But i must say north west. say Dunnegal and Letterkenny areas... SEXY accent!

Most inner city accents are horrible, and all scumbags have the most annoying vocal chords ever put in a biped, ya no wha' a mean, bud?

So that's Dublin and Limerick Primarily. Not that I can complain about accents, I've the biggest culchie accent ever, and I never realise it...

Incidentally, here's my grand-uncle playing the harmonica.

*legend at work*

He's 94 now. Still goes walking every day.
Ahh, reminded me of my grandad ^^ tried to be come a priest at the age of 85 but was too old to START the vocation... So being the legend (and holy man he is) served as an alter server for the next 12 years! (we say he should have been pope >.>)

I sometimes think there should be an Irish pope. Then I remember that Irish priests aren't the most....reliable in the world.

Actually, I just sent in my defection notice to The Catholic Church. I was baptised against mine (well obviously) and my parents will.
Ah now. Seeing as my mothers side of the family are both the most respectable AND most religious people i personall know. I wouldn't have much to say against the church (more specifically, what i've seen of it)
Priests give to the community, and are really, generally good people. People who follow the laws written in that book generally do the same.
But as in all walks of live and all places, local and abroad, you have asswholes.
Sad times tho... and yeah im not fan of the vatican. But I wouldn't bother them... Cuz it's not like their magical water has us marked for life~
