What is the meaning of life?

Is it to procreate? To create objects? To create ideas? To simply exist? or none of the above...?

What do you think the meaning of life is?

edit: dagnabit, clicked wrong forum.

There isn't one.

We exist because a series of events over billions of years caused us to exist.
There is no 'meaning' to it, it just happened.

So do.
Whatever.
The fuck.
You want.

'Cause you're gonna die some day, and there ain't nobody keeping score.

Life universally is something that cannot be justified; I'll tell you that much. Whatever your ambitions, your existance, your prefrences and values hold are the subjective reasons you need to keep going along with it.

Why do you do keep doing it? That's the question you should ask instead.

[small]No, I didn't mean that to be nihilistic, unless that's your reasion...[/small]

The meaning of life is a number... and that number is one...

Wait, what? We probably have no meaning... Life was probably just an accident...

Life is not some kind of tool. We don't need to assign to it some kind of stupid purpose for us to "use". Life is just there. As for me, I'm content with just exploring its features. For a brief moment in time, particles of various elements have come together to form something sentient. Might as well make the best of it.

Catgirl Maid with a shotgun?
That'd make an awesome movie.

Whatever answer you can find that holds true, or at least remains in line with reality, should be fine. Not even religion is able to give a single meaning for life, it's the type of thing that cannot be given. Also 42.

Copy-Pasted from the last "Meaning of Life" thread...

There isn't one. As soon as one dies, the meaning of life ceases to be a factor, which means all of our efforts are for naught, there is no grand scheme. However, if one was to say that the meaning of life was to live life in such a way that you would reach your higher power/God whatever in heaven/paradise etc, we would then look for meaning in that secondary existance. As that existance is infinite and/or eternal, whatever meaning we came up with would make no sense, as time would keep on going and going, with no "goal" or grand scheme in sight, this is enforced by the fact that humans can't comprehend eternity/infinity.

This raises the question, in that secondary existance, would we be human? If not, would we be able to comprehend eternity/infinity and the meaning of our existance in that second form, and if so, are we not just as powerful as our deity then? Seeing through the infinite space of time, knowing the so called "meaning" of life/existance and knowing what would happen?

I'll let you think about that for a few minutes...

*insert obligatory Hitchhiker's Guide reference here*

I don't know what the meaning of life is. All I know is that an average of 75 years is too short a time to ponder about it.

I once saw on Motto of the Moment: "If you have to ask the meaning of life, you haven't been living".
