Copy-Pasted from the last "Meaning of Life" thread...
There isn't one. As soon as one dies, the meaning of life ceases to be a factor, which means all of our efforts are for naught, there is no grand scheme. However, if one was to say that the meaning of life was to live life in such a way that you would reach your higher power/God whatever in heaven/paradise etc, we would then look for meaning in that secondary existance. As that existance is infinite and/or eternal, whatever meaning we came up with would make no sense, as time would keep on going and going, with no "goal" or grand scheme in sight, this is enforced by the fact that humans can't comprehend eternity/infinity.
This raises the question, in that secondary existance, would we be human? If not, would we be able to comprehend eternity/infinity and the meaning of our existance in that second form, and if so, are we not just as powerful as our deity then? Seeing through the infinite space of time, knowing the so called "meaning" of life/existance and knowing what would happen?
I'll let you think about that for a few minutes...
