All this just to get the Deadpool, X-Men, and Fantastic Four into the MCU :p.

I mean what other reasons are there that we the consumerist audience care about what happens now here? I mean this article has a thumbnail picture of Marvel stuff.

Well, say good bye to Fox's R rated movie franchises like Aliens and Predators.

And I don't know if we will ever see Die Hard and Planet of the Apes and Avatar in a new movie.

Or the fate of The Simpsons, and Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy and American Dad.

Disney technically released Pulp Fiction.

Disney may not prefer to directly put their label on it, but it is a mistake to think Disney is unwilling to make adult content.

Did they credited themselves as such in Pulp Fiction's credit sequence?

Also wasn't Miramax founded by Harvey Weinstein?

^This. I don?t follow the minutia and political drama surrounding cinema and television as closely as many of you seem to, but Disney, being a business first and foremost, would be pretty foolish to think they could acquire/become associated with established, mature audience-oriented media and water it down to something the can profitably sell with Micky Mouse plastered at the bottom-right corner much less censor or do away with established and popular media in the interest of preserving whatever integrity they feel comes with the Disney brand.

Parent corporations don't always need to directly credit themselves to prosper.

Google worries me more. Disney may monopolize entertainment, but Google wants to monopolize us as people.

Yeah, I'm with Saelune. I'm guessing we see a spinoff label like Maramax return to handle "r" properties. Not that it's necessary, just that there's still blood left to be squeezed out of the Fox properties. Not much though, all of them are well past their prime and much closer to death than their heyday anyway. Its probably why Fox was willing to sell; a handful of tired old properties they were probably better off getting a big payday selling them to Disney rather than to watch each die slowly, costing more and more and returning less and less every year. And Disney is probably looking more toward getting older Fox properties to beef up its catalogue for its fledgling streaming service than for any other reason. With Fox + ABC studios content they will have a service that can right away compete in an increasingly crowded streaming market.

Should call it 'The Hound Studios'.

It's not really cynical. I mean was anyone REALLY chomping at the bit waiting for a new die hard movie?
Probably not; I was just appreciating your crass-if-terse response to Samtemdo8 who?d attempted to kick the topic off with some obvious gravitas.

True. Silicon Valley is home to some scary shit. Makes me shudder to think about.

Anyway, from what I can tell they have all the Marvel characters now. Universal and Sony co-owned some characters mainly Spider-Man, Hulk, and Namor but as far as I know they can't stop Marvel from using the characters.

Hopefully never.
How the fuck are they even supposed to do a 4.0? They should have stopped at 2.0 and be done with it.

Now, about the merger....

I felt bad about this merger in general, but you kept listing things the world is far better off without, so maybe it's not such a bad thing afterall

(Not dissing the original Predator, Die Hard trilogy and Alien/s, moreso what they have become)
