So there are a hell of a lot of games out there with a hell of a lot of collectibles to match.

Which games in your opinion had the most annoying, irritating, tedious and/or difficult to find collectibles?

Your decision can be based on anything, whether the collectibles were just annoying to find or even just boring... or even if they were just to damn hard to find, anything.

My personal decisions would have to be the feathers in AC II, everyone else said they were easy to find. All my friends ended up finding them all... but nope, not me... I got to like, 70... then I just gave up...

However it's a close tie between that and GTA IV's pigeons. Not because they were all that hard to find but just because they'd cause me trouble. I'd have to shoot one and then have the cops on my ass right after...

Anyway, your turn.

I would also say the pigeons from GTA IV. I had the same problem as you did and what do you even get as a reward for those bastards?

I would have to say the Bottle you get from collecting all of the Big Pos in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I still can't get that last Po near Ikana Canyon.

I once found at least 110 Golden Bananas in Donkey Kong 64.

I never found enough normal ones for the bosses of Crystal Caves and Creepy Castle.

That's one of the (admittedly many) games I'll never, ever beat. But that's not lack of motivation; that's actually not being able to beat it.

Ass creed one gets my vote, there we're 500 fucking collectables in it and you don't get anything for collecting them. I will say stalking the templars was kind of fun but having to look for all those goddamn flags? I should have been given somthing for that.

You think the feathers are bad... what about all those fucking flags in AC1 and ACB (granted, you can buy maps to locate them in ACB, but it's still irritating). Though to be fair, complete collection of the feathers gets you a free 'attack-me' banner which is basically pointless and doesn't even look that good.

The flags in AC 1 were so much harder to find than feathers, and there were so many more of them!

Not so much collectibles, but those ridiculous achievements which require something like a quarter of a million kills online in a game noone plays.

Also, to a much lesser extent a lot of the challenges in Halo Reach.
They often have way too high a requirement and way too little a pay-off, and a lot of them further encourage shitty styles of play.
Get 10 kills with grenades in one match? You shitting me?

The whole freaking lot of them. I don't know of a single game that has benefited from this OCD-bait.

Exceptions: - Audio diaries &c. that are non-essential, and give you no bonuses except back-story.
- The packages from Grand Theft Auto 3, because they weren't too hard to find because of the size of the map, and the game was mostly about pointless mucking about anyway.

Assassin's Creed - the fucking flags and feathers. Damn I hate those things. Especially the feathers; the flags were at least in the freakin' game.

For me, all of them.

I always find one or two and then keep an eye out for them along the way occasionally going off for hours at a time to find nothing because the place 'looked' like it might have one. In the end I find i've become some souless monster hell bent on finding the last random five of the collectables destroying everything in a blind rage because all i had to do was turn around on the first level.

So really I hate all collectibles because they make me a bad person.
