This is totally inspired by GeneralAlvarez's fine thread Are your friends compitent enough to survive? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.224188-Are-your-friends-compitent-enough-to-survive]

I responded to that and it got me thinking about the most Badass person I know. Thinking of some of his exploits made me smile fuzzy warm smiles.

Meet the most Badass person I've ever met - my father:

One time some friends and I were helping one of their mother's move. There were maybe 7 beefy guys and a 3 of us girls. We spent the weekend getting really dirty and sweaty and not bathing. On our way home we stopped by the place where my father kept his boat. He'd never met these friends and looking at us, I was a little concerned what he might think when I showed up with a nasty-looking group of men. No need to worry. As we walked along the dock toward his boat he comes out of the hold, shirtless, in ragged shorts, with a big strip of leather around his head and trailing down his back. This strip of leather was cradling a huge (I mean HUGE) boat engine. The kind of engine you could cross an ocean with. He was hauling this monstrosity out of the hold by his head. My friends waited on the dock to make sure it was safe, that he wouldn't fling the engine at them in a fit of fatherly protective rage.

Another time he was driving his Camaro on a highway. At highway speed the steering wheel fell off. My dad grabbed a wrench (we all have big wrenches in our cars don't we?), clamped it onto the steering column and kept on going.

That's my Badass father. Kinda makes me ashamed when I squeal with fright at the sight of certain insects. I just wish he'd been named Snake.

Tell me about the Badass (or asses if you're lucky) in your life. Who's in your life that's so crazy tough you're thankful they're on your side? Even better if you're the Badass.
