Movies and advertising go hand in hand and it certainly isn't fair to judge. After all it's advertising that helps our economy thrive and allows us the budget to continue to make movies in the first place, so naturally when I see a logo in the background of a movie I don't get too annoyed because I understand that it has it's place.
However that said, sometimes the advertising can be a little too obvious and often it just becomes a little insultingly obvious that the advertisers slipped their logo in at the right possible time, just those little moments where you know the sole purpose of that scene was to advertise.
For me an example has to be in Men in Black 2 when (I thik it was Catherine Zeta Jones) undoes her shirt and in the background you can plainly see the Burger King logo. It was even worse in Australia because here we call Burger King, Hungry Jacks and so for Australian audiences they edited it to say that. While it's unfair to be so harsh I just think that was somewhat sleazy to just put the placement right there just to make the logo look better and I don't know wy but I found it to be both obnoxious and highly shameless.
So that's my example. What's yours?
