..so after finally getting around to playing GOW: Ghost Of Sparta, I got to the part where SPOILERS! Kratos finds him mom who ends up telling him the identity of his father. Whereupon she promptly turns into an absolutely pants-shitting terrifying looking creature.

Now I have a feeling that the developers were going more for "just plain ugly" but she scares the holy crap out of me. With her giant tooth lined bottom lip, her shriveled mangled body, and her long crooked witch nose (in the game) I find her scarier than most enemies in straight horror games.

Which got me thinking fellow escapists, what are your favorite unintentionally scary enemies/characters?

(and yes the Piano in Mario is a good example of this)

Unintentionally scary enemies? How about Tingle?

Granted, just about everyone from Majora's Mask is creepy to certain degrees. The Moon, The Mask-Dealer, the Four Gods...

All it does is steal pizzas...but each time it knocks you down, the game skips to a cutscene of it cackling horribly in your face. Also, the Noid got drunk once and had a one night stand with Robbie the Rabbit's mother. I have no evidence of this, but it's true.

A particular Juggernaut unit in MW2 Spec Ops running out of the tress and across the field on that safe house map. Seeing it quickly charge at me in the distance oddly scared the crap out of me.

Does it count for random dead bodies that freak out because of the physics engine? Those always scare the shit out of me at first, but then I find them hilarious.

I call them "party bodies." :D

The shadow monster thing from Fable 3. Not that scary til you look across your room in the night and the curtains and a pile of clothes look exactly like it!

The Turrets from Portal...in a weird way. I find their voice creepy and adorable at the same time. (If that makes sense)

Yup Tingle should just automatically win any creepy contest. They should just put him in horror games from now on, can you imagine him stalking you, even if he was doing it Sneak King style and only going to give you a burger.

They're certainly different, I'll give them that much.
