The one feature GTA 5 needs.

After playing a lot of GTA 4 and San Andreas lately, there's one complaint I have about both games that I'd like to voice as clearly as possible:

Outside of cutscenes, I don't care what you want to show me or emphasize, I don't care how cool it's going to look or what kind of effect you're going for, don't ever, EVER, take camera control out of my hands.

This is especially grating when trying to do stunt jumps, and land properly, especially when there's multiple ramps to hit over a several-jump course. There's no feature to turn this shit off and I can't find any way to mess with the game files to simply delete it.

It could always use more James Woods.

More James Woods is all that's needed in life.

There's also another feature. It's called checkpoints. Rockstar's reluctance to include them so far is unacceptable. It's an essential feature. Most players don't like doing that shit.

Still, it was kind of implemented in the DLC, so we can expect it in GTA V. That's all I need.

Well... health regen would be kind of nice, too. That's the stuff Saints Row does better than GTA.

I was going to say actual enjoyment, but I guess that is a feature GTAV should have as well.

See Red Dead Redemption. I think Rockstar will keep those changes, thankfully. Even if it just entails being able to restart a mission from the very beginning, from scratch, without losing armour, weapons and money or having to spend ten minutes reloading and getting back to it.

They need to make GTA5 more like San Andreas. In my opinion, San Andreas was the pinnacle of the entire series. Make it like that but more over the top and we're in business.

I know, RDR. But that was Rockstar San Diego, so I hesitated to mention that.

It is incredibly likely that they have learned the lesson, though.

You're not alone. It's a pretty widely held view by people who don't pine for the top down games.

An option to skip the driving? You can't use a taxi for a lot of the missions in GTA IV. That was my favorite part about LA Noire (until that out-of-nowhere freaking "find the landmark" case). I know it's Grand Theft Auto, but driving in games has been annoyingly boring for a while now. Unless it's bicycles (Bully) or horses (Red Dead, Assassin's Creed).

Yep, nothing like the scaring mini-game in Saint Row. Fun, fun, fun.
Thinking more like how the executed it in Red Dead.
Ah, I've got you. Bit weird to have a Lasso in modern day though. Any possible way round that Java?

I would like more attention paid to the cars handling and performance. The range of vehicles was excellent but the handling was woeful. On a dry street at low speed, only a car with freshly greased tyres would understeer like the cars in GTA4 did. More grip please!

I love to drift and it looks cool but can be really tricky in GTA 4.

My final gripe with the cars is that most don't sound too good. Give us more V8 bellow! The Imponte Ruiner is a great car but it's supposed to have a massive V8, right? Well it doesn't SOUND like it has, which is just wrong.

Less "social" crap - yes the minigames are all well and good but they got tedious very quickly and I don't like being penalised for not doing them!

I'd like more of the hilariously cutting radio adverts and jingles and the savage sense of humour the game has. Keep Gary Sheene from Independence FM too - the guy's hilarious! What I loved about GTA 4 is the constant "Come to America - it's fucking great!" being countered by the parody radio stations doing their best to remind us that it's all just bullshit.

Cuffs from cops perhaps?, The trick is you have to get behind the opponent, Sadly i'm not sure how you would stop them from trying to run.

Duct tape and laughing gas? hand cuffs? stealing their shoes? Now I just sound like a rapist... do you want that in their as well?

I draw between wanting serious or silly; I mean GTIV was attempt at serious that feel gave more confidence with production of RD:Redemption and LA Noire.

However I do miss the days of vice city (that was the best GTA)

The problem is that SR covers the silly zone. I'd prefer funny and more clever humour with some silly rather than SR balls to wall insanity.
