The Orange Box PS3 Version

I finally just got a PS3 and i was looking for a good game to play it on. The problem is i blew all my money getting the PS3 and now i'm basically broke and then i saw The Orange Box in a Wal-Mart for $20. I heard that this version had some bug problems but is it enough for it to be a dealbreaker? OH and is TeamFortess 2 on it any good?

The Orange Box is much better on the PC, and I've heard the TF2 community on the PS3 is pretty dead, but if you don't have a good PC then it's still a good purchase on your PS3. Especially if you haven't played any of the Half-Life 2 games before.

The PS3 version's okay. I didn't have Half-Life an' Portal glitch at all, but Team Fortress never really got updated.
It's still fun though.

I've never had issues joining up in TF2 any time of day. I have heard the PS3 version is the worst, but it's still a damn good game. And for only $20, there is no reason any PS3 owner should not own The Orange Box, even if all they do is play Portal. So worth it!

It's worth it but if you have a half decent pc, it's better on that.

You should also be able to get Warhawk for cheap. If you have a ps3, you should have Warhawk. Just don't get the headset used.

If you're low on cash, you may want to pick up some cheap psn titles. I recommend anything that has Pixel Junk in front of the title, The Last Guy, Echocrome, Rag Doll Kung Fu is free (but not as good as these others).

Other good games you can get for cheap: Saints Row 2, Bioshock, and Resistance. I don't know about walmart but amazon has some really cheap prices on these ones.

It's worth it despite the fact we got the raw deal with the framerate. But seriously get it, you won't regret it.

If you can, get it for the PC as its just more fun.

I had it for the 360 first and then I got it for the PC and I've never looked back.

P.S. If you buy it for the PC you also get Half Life 2 Lost Coast which is basically a deleted scene for Half Life 2

The Orange Box is happiest on the PC, and with it being built on Source, it's relatively easy on computing requirements. I don't believe the various TF2 updates ever hit the PS3 version, and above and beyond that, the games are shooters, which are generally easier to run with a mouse.

That said, I'm sure there are a few good PS3 titles available for less than $60 now, mostly older titles. Resistance and it's follow up were awfully popular, as was Bioshock and Killzone 2. Uncharted was a decent third-person shooter. Non-shooters also abound.

Mind you, I long ago gave up buying games in brick and morter and buy most of my stuff on eBay now, which averages far cheaper than store bought.

I bought it and i really haven't found any bugs and team fortress 2 doesn't have the updates, other than that there is no real difference in the console versions. Hope that helps.

This. The games are good, and its a pretty good deal for your money, but the game has other versions that are definitely better. The framerate issue is not that bad, but the TF2 community is rather dead, the game is incredibly laggy and has very little support when compared to the other versions...

I have the PS3 version, and I think it is definitely worth it. Team Fortress 2 is great and so are Half-Life 2 and the Episodes, and of course you get Portal...
