Planescape: Torment is my perfect game, although it would be great to have DLC to continue the story into and beyond the Blood War.

My perfect game is a true sniper game. One where you have to move into position take the shot accounting for all the real world factors. then you had to make an escape without getting detected/killed. You would also have a training before the game.
OR
A game that is like what MAG is shaping up to be but you combine air and warships(navy). You choose a branch of service(navy, air force, or ground services) then you have to play through the whole game/online in that service, each has owns pros and cons. Also you would have to heal in a medic camp. SUPER REALISM
so once I choose what I want, you can never go back?
and how are you going to balance a normal soldier with his rifle to a way to expensive plane.
would be liquid awesome if it worked though
OT: my perfect game is pretty much fallout 3, it comes so close to what I want, a fun FPS RPG with real nice quests, and it even has pretty good graphics to boot, and MR.Croshaw's point of it not being immersive, I really think that the new add-ons improve on that, and in 4 days Mothership zeta is coming out.

and now REALLY on topic: a bit like fallout 3, but in WH40k settings, I would love being able to choose my race, and have the rest of the game affected by it.

Well my dream game would never be achievable any time soon because you would have to build like, 10 different engines and combine them for gameplay mechanics.
First of all, it needs an open world, huge sandbox, like, 3 times the size of San andreas per planet (or maybe twice the size of just cause if anyone played that game but me) 6-7 planets with completely different environments (one of which being earth) and multiplayer. At least 4 people, preferably up to 16. You're a very diversive customizable monkey (like chimpanzee size) with a jetpack, which you can utilize to go extremely fast as to travel around these sandboxes (as well as outer space) without too much drag. As far as weapons you have an arsenal of ninja gaiden/devil may cry style badass weapons that would never be practical in the real world, enough guns of different varieties to make gordan freedman hang himself, and superpowers, all interchangable and dual wieldable with different effects on each. There should be a level up system but not to the point where it gets grindy and boring. Movement with the jetpack should feel like a fun flight sim. Without it similar to prototype. As for combat, gun's only>First person shooter perspective, Powers only/ powers+guns>Third person shooter perspective. Single knifelike weapon+small gun or powers>stealth perspective. any other combo>Devil may cryesque action game perspective. Killable Destructable and eatable environments, buildings, Children, babies, monsters, Players, enemy monkey NPCs and civilians. Epic giant boss battles, Cool vehicles, awesome innovative weapons. Console controls/keyboard and mouse optional. If only it where possible.

For me, it would be fast paced combat of Unreal Tournament or quake 3 combined with art style of borderlands or little darker TF2. Continuing, Multiplayer-only FPS, no storymode, TF2's lag compensation, no bullet-time/real time events crap. Modern or apocalyptic setting.

For RTS side, I would want starcraft 2 :p

A game where you play Generation 1 Optimus Prime on an open world Cybertron, Crackdown style.
Nice idea... but consider this: Wouldn't pre-G1 make for an even more interesting setting? I've always wondered what a Transformers game would be like if you used the story setting of the 'The War Within' comics, when the civil war on Cybertron is still actively raging on.
I think I just drooled on my keyboard.

Just a game that is truly worthy of beening called "next-gen" (for example the graphics would have to be REALLY ground breaking compared to what the PS3, Wii and 360 can do so far)

a massive open world rpg, in the style of the fallout 3 world(or oblivion with guns, its essentially the same thing) with a combination of an assassins creed ability to scale terrain and buildings, R6 Vegas style gunplay, a close combat system that didnt suck and possibly psychic/force/magic/plasmid style powers

Essentially, a new and largely improved Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines, or any Action Adventure/RPG with a tight Story and some interesting Sidequests with great characters and a dark modern Setting.

OR

A Game that is essentially a mix between a Space Shooter and Mass Effect

OR

Any Game with fast-paced Gameplay, a great, epic and emotional Story and instant replayability thanks to awesome setpieces that you just have to be played twice.
(Offline Coop would be nice too, thanks)

Something with an infinite storyline, which is randomly generated as you play, so it would need some story generating a.i.

I like the idea of the second game, it sounds like the breath of fresh air to the stale shooters on the market. But as for the second game...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sniper_Elite

It was released for the PS2, PC, and Xbox. It features the most realistic sniping of any game, and was very good, I played it and liked it immensely. I'd say that's about as close to your perfect Sniping Game as one could get so far.

Elder Scrolls 5 set in either Akaviir or the whole of Tamriel. Using a completely revamped engine (maybe an idtech?). Have a much deeper combat engine with both locational damage (Fallout 3) and a dismemberment chance (Deadspace). Great writing and voice acting, great animation (both body and face).
Diverse and interesting landscapes, with a lot of variety in the architectural style.
Like to see better looking magic effects, as well as more types of magic. Also, put more emphasis on elemental combat.
More enemy diversity, lots of region specific enemies that don't just stand there or wander around. Maybe more than 1 skin per creature to add more variety.
Multiple endings, plus PLEASE let the character join the enemy!
Lots of side quests and dungeons to explore.
Have drop in/drop out co-op, as well as 8-16 multiplayer support. Entire world is open for them, but a different set of quests are available. NOT an MMO!!!
Please bring back dremer ruins, I loved those.
Maybe Morrowind 2? Please?

I would think to balance it have bunkers where the bombs can't hit you and have SAM and PATRIOT missiles on the maps for ground to air fighting, also the planes would have to be a lot more difficult to fly than it is to command a boat or solider, like in the real world.

They're called teams.
yeah, it would be cool to have 1 guy commanding a team of regular dudes, and have boats and planes on support, and just have the ground sloggers capture objectives.
