I've spent the last half hour looking at gameplay videos and whatnot for Pandemics new game "The Saboteur" and aside from the weird futuristic race cars, and the modernlooking rocket launcher, I think it looks rather smashing!

Anyone else thinks it looks rather good, or read anything that may add to its pro's or con's ?

It looks really good. I really like how the city changes from black and white to color.

Pros: Visual style, addictive gameplay often found in Pandemic games, a not-often-used-setting for a sandbox game, Assassin's Creed style "Faffing about" only with guns.

Cons: Samey or GoW-esque gunplay, WWII story (Nazis = bad, you killz them).

I actually pre-ordered it a month ago. I'm thinking of cancelling the pre-order since Pandemic have actually closed and the game has gone to EA Montreal.

It plays well, and it's very fun. Kind of like Mercenaries set in WW2, but good.

This rather excellent cinematic trailer [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk45NdnmLXI] for the game looks pretty good.

The gunplay is more Battlefront esque. You can fire normally and zoom in over the shoulder for headshots.
So why is an Irish guy in Paris? I'm confused on that part.

Because historically, the Irish were neutral with a lean towards the nazis (they let their Uboats dock off the north coast of Ireland), which gives an excuse to have an English-Speaking hero, wandering free around Paris.

I've been excited since I saw it at E3. I'm actually probably going to get it when it comes out.

Didn't Pandemic close down? Will this game be coming out?

"In November 2009, the owner of Pandemic Studios, Electronic Arts, cut a total of 1500 jobs which affected various studios. Rumors have said that Pandemic Studios will be closed as part of the cost cutting measures by Electronic Arts and that some of their current projects such as The Saboteur will be passed on to Electronic Arts Los Angeles.

On November 17, 2009, EA officially confirmed Pandemic Studios will be closed, save for a core intellectual property team, laying off 200 employees."

I haven't decided whether or not to go for this one yet. Okay, you play a guy who can scale buildings without climbing equipment as he systematically liberates a city from the bad guys piece by piece, gradually bringing the beleaguered metropolis back to life and causing passersby on the street to sing your praises wherever you go--so it's Infamous, but with Nazis. And while I did like Infamous, I've also already played the daylights out of it...
