There obviously is no definitive answer to this but I'm still curious.
What do you find to be the most attractive accents? Where do you live and how often are you exposed to them?

I personally would say Latin American accents.
Yes they have multiple accents throughout the countries but I find them all sexy. And the thicker the accent the better. I live in Arizona and I'll here the accents somewhat occasionally but most of the latin american girls here aren't the first generation in the US so most of the accents aren't that thick but it varies from girl to girl. Also being in az the la accent I'm exposed to most is Mexican but you occasionally hear others.

(I also find a lot of asian accents sexy but not as much as latin american)

So what's your favorite/favorites? And do you get to hear it a lot?

I don't get people liking any British accents except Irish. Mainly because I'm British and I constantly around British people. I don't get liking other European accents either.

I can't say I don't mind Russian accents. Same with American[footnote]Except for Valley Girl and Southern accents. Bleh.[/footnote] ones.

I like me a British accent...and I have an American accent (Plain old midwest, not southern or valley girl. Like Moviebob's broadcast voice). I don't know why I like British accents...they just sound so sweet and smart. And I don't get how anyone can like American accents, though it's probably the same thing. I'm around them so much they have no appeal.

Depends on the language being spoken...

For English: Republic of Ireland; English RP; and (for one reason or another) German.

For Cantonese, I've recently come to the conclusion that people from Shenzhen talk funny... and Foshan isn't much better, so I'll stick with home (HK).

Not really fussed when it comes to Japanese, but Miyuki Sawashiro may purr in my ear as much as she pleases...

I've always meant to ask you... but which 'British' accent in particular? Even British English accents are as varied as American accents. Pretty much every county (of which there are 83) has their own local accent. London by itself has seven geographical accents...

That said (my last post, that is), despite everything, I don't mind a mild Louisiana accent...

The Inverness accent is very pleasing to hear. BBC RP is all right, but I can't stand 'Gap Yah' southern accents. And of course French is very sexy

Unfortunately, I come from a place where people have this accent :(

Cheerful, but not what anyone would deem sexy.

I dunno, I haven't really heard a British accent I'm not terribly fond of. I've heard Stephen Merchant's [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibzbTu_Rmy0] accent is southern and I don't mind that, and Christopher Eccleston [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgpT0wjC-iY] has a northern accent and that's fine too. Apart from those I'm not really sure I can distinguish any others. It's all British to me :p I guess those strong, stereotypical cockney accents are a bit obnoxious, but I have yet to come across a real person who speaks like that.

And I agree, Louisianan accents are juuuust slightly different from Southern accents...just enough to sound endearing instead of grating.

Australian accents obviously win. S'long as they're not incomprehensibly bogan-y.

Eh, maybe I'm overestimating how saturated European entertainment is with American media, but I don't see how American accents could be considered particularly interesting to anyone who regularly watches Hollywood movies.

I'm from New Jersey. The way most non-reality TV people talk from here isn't too crazy, I've never been pegged as being "from New Jersey" based on my accent when out of state. One woman asked if we were from Philly. As if, go shove a hoagie in it.

I think Bostonese is the funniest east coast accent (well, apart from maybe Maine. "Lobstah!"). When I worked at McDonalds, a guy came through the drive thru and asked for a "small bahks." "A box?" I asked him. "No, a bahks!" We went back and forth for like a minute, and finally he shouts, "A bahks, a bahks Root Beer!" He was trying to say "Barqs," the brand of Root Beer McDonalds carries.

And I had another friend from Boston who can't properly pronounce "bagel." He sort of splits it in two, then pronounces it phonetically. He literally says "bag-el." Bag, as in a plastic bag, and then "el." Bag-el.

In my experience it depends which particular British accent. I will admit right now that Irish accents are sexy beyond belief, but I like some English accents too. Particularly the more refined, slightly-posh ones. They just do things to me...

Have you ever head Movie Bob break out of his broadcast voice and into his actual speaking voice, Boston accent and all? That.

Ah... so the 'mild' or 'soft' accents... as it were. Stephen Merchant's quite... upper-class, but it's a natural accent that he has. Compare to say... Made in Chelsea (or whatever the hell it's called), they sound ridiculous (hideously posh, but sounds soooooooooooooo forced and effected... *blech*).

You should've recognized that as Barqs, because it ryhmes with "parks" and "Pahk the cah in the Hahved Yahd" is a fairly commonly (and fairly accurate) stereotype of the Boston accent.

I do say "caw-fee" though...

Scottish and Irish girls. Their voices are foreign enough that they're not terrible American midwest accents but not foreign enough that they can't speak English

I'm definitely going to go with Tom's accent. :3 It's an amalgamation of Black Country and Birmingham(British). And it's sexy. ;D I love the way he says my name. :3 It gets me every time! lol.
