I know I sound like a madman, but I really love the absurdity or goofiness of the Silver Age comics.

I personally prefer the "Stan Lee Age", which starts in said Silver Age.

That's all well and good, alot of people do particularly some modern creators based on the amount of silver age homages and call backs I've read in modern years.

Ah the Silver Age, when Superman nearly married a mermaid, and Captain Marvel saw the world killed in an atomic war. They're probably my favourite.

The best story though is when Wonderwoman runs for the presidency. It's set in the year 3000, the earliest possible date in which Americans would plausibly elect a woman to be president. Stop me if this starts to sound familiar, but she runs against a blonde haired, orange skinned guy called Trevor who hits it off with the public despite being a sleaze to the women. Wonderwoman gets more votes, but Trevor wins the election anyway due to interference from a dodgy foreign oligarch who everyone knows is crooked except for Trevor, who constantly assures everyone he's a nice guy.

Fighting Hitler doesn't always make good storytelling.

Batman wasn't a buffoon. Yes, some of his stories got WAY too weird and bizarre along the way, but there have been many stories that showed him still a great character and takes things seriously.

I love pretty much the entire Silver Age. Including the beginning of Marvel.

This was my absolute favourite bat-era. You had that fucking awesome Adam West show, a version of the Joker who was nearly harmless (aside from trying to kill bats with sharks or carnivorous plants) and a Gotham city population who actually appreciated the caped crusader.

Golden age batman was actually a bit of a monster (he killed crooks with guns! Batman!)

Golden age batman was acruelly a bit of a monster (he killed crooks with guns! Batman!)
Plus he even hanged some guys as well. Mainly monsters created by Hugo Strange's experiments. Also the Silver Age gave us Batgirl and not one that wasn't treated as a stereotypical feminist bullcrap of hating men, but loves Batman. (And yes, that was an attack on Killing Joke because screw Azzarello and Bruce Timm for that terrible movie.)

Batman: Brave and the Bold fills all of my Silver Age needs. I loved it, because it was another bat show that did not take itself too seriously. While Batman had a dry wit, he's smart, funny, yet has his own personal quirks that fit the tone of that universe.

I don't have a particular favorite age, but if I had to guess; my choice is the Bronze Age.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never actually watched Brave and the Bold. *checks* Hey, they have a season of it on netflix, I'll have to watch it sometime (and by "sometime" I mean "tonight")

Yeah, I feel so conflicted about the Killing Joke. On one hand I love the story, other hand I hate that it's (or was) cannon. One hand I love her as Oracle but hate the circumstances that led her to it.

I cannot even bring myself to watch the movie but I've read the cliffnotes and just.......ick.

HOOO!HOOO! Shots fired! I am with you there; that whole Bruce/Barbara golden plot was unnecessary, adding nothing to the story, and was created just for shock value. Azzarello and Timm admit this.

I love Batman: The Brave and the Bold. It not only embraces the Silver Age, but feels like a love letter to the entire DC mythos.
