The Super Mario Brothers Movie. Why was it bad?

I have recently rented the movie, watched it and enjoyed it. But i seem to be the only one to like. What was wrong with it, yes it was a bit cheesy and at sometimes a bit incoherent, but what do you expect, you have a game about two italian plumbers who fight dinosuars and decide to make a movie. So what was wrong with the movie?

Edit: Sorry I wasn't clear enough but Every Video game Movie that was terrible was written by Uwe Boll, He managed to make all gamers believe that Movie games can't be achieved, Super Mario Brothers was a good movie, But for the Video Game Movies, Uwe Boll raped it.

Well... It was totally different from the world portrayed in the games it was supposed to be based on. It didn't really feel like Super Mario Brothers. If it didn't have the Mario license attached, maybe it would have been forgettable as opposed to infamous.

yes, he did make the Mario movie. and Alone in The Dark. and hes coming up with a movie of Legend: Hand of God.

I liked it, but I watched it when I was still in single digits so my opinion is probably skewed. But I'm hesitant to re-watch it, I don't want to spoil the sugar fueled memories of my youth.

I'm almot positive that Uwe Boll had nothing to do with the Mario Bros. Movie. It was about 10 years or so before his time as a... guy involved in movies (I refuse to give him any official title).

Anyway, I like the movie. It's awesome, in a cheesy, awkward sort of way.

Wait, Monkey as in the Kung-fu TV featuring a monkey-king with a staff, a priest etc. I liked that too. Am i the only one who likes all that reallllllly old and cheesy stuff, my god what is the world coming to
