*Grievstein, 'The Next World' outpost.*

The sign reads as you leave the building and enter the square. The mass of people start to disperse, each off to do their business - only a few stick around, obviously first timers, not knowing what's where. You, too, were told nothing, just given passage you paid for.
The town is located in a cavern, that much you can tell, but how large it is or what's outside is a mystery. The town square is open and empty, only a few workabouts crossing it to reach one of the surrounding buildings. Across it is a building, much like the others, but with a sign above it's front door, reading "HOTEL".
Those that would take a walk through the town could find a market divided into two sections, one for foodstuffs, the other for everything else. There's also a smithy, an inn, a couple of bakeries, and a barrack. It's not a large town, but it's a heavily defended one (none of you know this so far).
The cavern is damp and somewhat dark, but you can discern it's day outside. As you stand there, a platoon of Grumar soldiers walk up to one of the passengers, a furry humanoid. One squad surrounds and tackles him, placing a woolen bag over his head. They knock him unconscious, and drag him away. The other squad surrounds Konrad and his beast. Their lieutenant looks at the rest of you and barks "Go on, get off to yer business! Nothin' to see 'ere!". He pauses as a sinister smile climbs on to his face. "And welcome to Grievstein." he adds, switching his focus onto Konrad. "That beast is either to be slain here, or tossed out. You can go with it. Choose. Now."

You walk through what seems like a redundantly long hallway, light grasping at you through the windows. You can view the square outside, but you're focused on the two-winged door at the far end. As you get closer, it opens. You enter the small room. The guards close the door behind you. They are unimportant. The man in front of you is your employer. His back facing you, he's standing and gazing through a window, smoke rising from a pipe in his hand. "Sit, please.".
There's a desk between you two and a chair on both sides. You sit on the one on your end.
"I'll be brief. The document in front of you contains information on your target. It's not much, but there's not much to tell. You'll also find maps and the necessary clearance, should you need it, to keep you out of trouble from our men. There will be a patrol heading out for Miiuk later today. Join them. From Miiuk you can reach our main outpost, where the fugitive has been held captive. You can start your search there. Once you've eliminated your target, bring proof back to the authorities there. Only then will you receive your payment. You can either accept the job now, or go back through the gateway. Do you accept this assignment?"
He blows his pipe as he awaits the response.
