How often do you feel bothered by the charachters in games?

To be honest they never really bother me, even the infamous people in falout 3 though people seem to have problems with video game charachters, Like even Mass effect, and I thourght mass effect was pretty good in that regard,

however I do get creeped out by N64 type graphics as in golden eye

Mass Effect and Dragon Age have some pretty er... uncanny moments that weird me out. Other games that can use motion capture for their cutscenes work a lot better. Older games never seem to bother me, because they move with such unrealistic fluidity or such clunky awkwardness that there is no real humanity in their scenes, or at very least not enough.

To be honest no I'm not bothered by it. Characters atleast blink, and that's enough for me. Don't know why people complain so much.

The only time is when characters act really weird like in Oblivion or Fallout 3... especially when there talking to you...<.<

Maybe it's not me, but when that insufficient fill between voice acting and displayed graphics gets sketchy, I kinda just haze out and my mind fills in all the pieces for me, often in a more cinematic style. I don't really mind it, so long as it isn't really too jarring to keep me from letting me enjoy some images next to pretty pictures as I think of how a cooler way could have been done.

Have you seen some of the trailers for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer characters? They were emotionless and expressionless. Very deep into the uncanny valley.

Of course I notice that a character isn't human but rarely does this detract from the game. For my money, voice acting is the part that will ruin a character in my eyes quicker than anything else. I remember Anorah's speech before the Climactic battle in Dragon Age: Origins was delivered so flatly and without emotion that I could only assume she wasn't aware of the gravity of the situation.

Games will never get the eyes right. It doesn't bother me often, but when I DO notice it, it freaks me the fuck out.
For me it's the mouth...whenever they try to get mouth movements right it becomes increasingly obvious that they're just...off (like in the new Tron movie, though I can't think of any video game instances of this at the moment). Weirds me out every time.

I'm usually pretty tolerant, and it often doesn't get to me, since they often don't look close enough to real people to creep me out. Two exceptions, though; Miranda (although I'm used to her now) and a few moments in Heavy Rain where things just look...off. Heavy Rain probably had the closest to realistic faces of any game I have played, so it can get creepy at times.

This is one reason why I'm scared of Kinectimals, though...

It doesn't really creep me out, but it's definitely there all the time in any 360 games. Usually they just can't get the hair right.

Which may be why so many people pick the Doctor. You can't really see his face so it can be as realisitic as you like in there.

Same goes for the Harle/Holliquin.

Fallout especially bothers the hell out of me - mostly because the Bethesda system of character creation makes it damn near impossible to get a decent looking male out of the game.quote]

Are you sure? My Courier seems to resemble David Hasselhoff.

OT: Not sure how I would be bothered be characters in these games.

There is something wrong with every woman character in God of War 1-3. I don't know why but they manage to make them all look creepy and stiff. Add that to the misshapen heads and you got some very awkward cut-screen moments.

This really doesn't inspire confidence. I mean...look at the roles Norton has PLAYED.
