Hello Vyse here to tell you that you all need to play Skies of Arcadia. While you're at it check out Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean may have some of the worst voice acting a game can have but is still an awesome overall game.

Captcha time.

How?

Been playing Starscape on Steam.
It's interesting how such a simple classic (Asteroids) can be expanded into something so fun.

In all seriousness, still a big Terraria fan, but it is quiet on the forums about it.
I was talking about it semi-regularly back in summer, and all I got were responses hating me for "supporting a ripoff of Minecraft".

Psychonauts and Costume Quest to name two Tim Schafer games right off the bat. And I hardly see that much love for Neverwinter Nights 2 around here, well, except for this thread.

Warhawk. It's an old game for the PS3, I think it came out in 2007. Seriously it's one of the funnest multiplayer games I've ever played. It's like a combination of Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefield. Nobody knows about it.

No One Lives Forever I & II

Gameplaywise they were perfectly done, but i guess the 60/70s style was what put a lot of gamers off.
Also, NOLF2 is one of the few pc games that actually had their own COOP story to play through (which shed some light onto events that weren't shown in the SP campaign).

I'm still hoping for NOLF3. Yeah, one of the few.

Knights in the Nightmare. Nintendo DS originally, later ported to the PSP. Never heard of it before? Well, here's a short explanation.

Think Final Fantasy Tactics, only with a bent towards Norse mythology.
Then add weapon degradation and a forging system, like Fire Emblem, except based on kills.
Apply similar systems to the units: repairing, upgrading and sacrificing them between battles.
Add some awesome-looking attacks, and also some real-time strategy elements.
Make the cursor controlled by the stylus/circle pad, like a mouse cursor. This doesn't seem too monumental...
...until you also throw in the bullet hell. And the bullets are aimed at the cursor. Your units don't take damage; you do.
Hey, wait, where you goin'? Come back! It's much better than it sounds!

Lost Kingdoms and its Sequel for Gamecube, Basically its real time, monster summoning card battles.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Yea it was different, I get it. It was still one of the most polished games I've played!

Cell Damage, Remake this please :)

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Very enjoyable game and no one seemed to play.

Aww... Someone said Ghost Trick before I got the chance to. I second this and add Radiant Historia for DS.
Hmm...Heard of, never got the chance to play, have too many games right now, can't find it anywhere but Amazon for $40...

Alpha Protocol

It's not as balanced as it could be, but it's one of the only games that gives you actual choice on things. The developers thought of pretty much everything. The story is quite good as long as you can keep up with a billion factions with three-letter acronyms. ...Oh, and it's Espionage Action-RPG for PC, 360 and PS3.

I'll have to go and say The Neverhood. First game I was ever exposed to, playing it with Dad, about 15 years ago, and sadly to this day I've not completed it. Ca,e close but a harddrive crash killed it and I never got around to it again, but it really is a piece of art.

I have to say alpja protocol and alan wake .

Alan wake was beautifully written , not many people ( as far as i know ) played it , but the story in that game is terrific. Even though the gameplay is kind of meh .

Alpha protocol is the opposite , the gameplay is really fun , even though the story is kinda meh . But a great game where your actions actually mean something .
I sign that, although i found the writing in Alpha Protocol very fun. The Story as a whole is kind of genre standard, but the dialogue is extremely fun (Thorton is such a smug yet likable asshole) and, as you said, you genuinely influence key points in the story while playing. In Fact, i'd still wish Mass Effect would copy Alpha Protocols Influence/Symphathy System and the greater outcomes for choices.

To add something, i'd say Splinter Cell Conviction.

I think many people bitched and moaned about the game being "dumbed down" without actually playing it. Just because you have a SLIGHTLY better chance to go into situations guns-blazing, doesn't mean you should or have to (except in one Flashback Mission that yes, DOES suck, but is at least not very long)
Beyond that, it's a fun stealth game that feels fresh since it's fast and intuitive, makes you feel like a genuine badass, has one of the best stories of any Splinter Cell Game, an amazing presentation, fun leveldesign, nice CoOp and surprising replayability thanks to a vast loadout of weapons and gadgets and many gamemodes.

Other than that, i'd also say Mirrors Edge (It's unique with tons of potential, and of course it has some trial and error gameplay because it's a jump n run!!), Enslaved (great characters, amazing motion capture tech, a story that has an epic feel without being heavy-handed or grimdark, good graphics, it's just the gameplay that is "just okay...ish") and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (One of the few non-party non-puzzle games that actually feels improved with the Wii Motion Controls, good graphics and presentation, and i'd dare saying the best plot of a Silent Hill Game since the second one)

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes
Came to steam in the past couple months, before that it was a DS game so it's both around £10 to buy on steam and will run on almost anything.

Nice mix of puzzle and strategy (and a bit of randomness) which will let you do well without being insanely good at either, it's quirky and colourful and varied enough for me with the 20 hour campaign with 5 different armies all with totally unique units.

:)

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

Every RPG developer out there should learn from this game how to design melee fights in a first person perspective.
