The Unrealistic MW2 Thread

Ok, So a while back me and a friend were having a conversation about FPS games, when he brings up MW2. Now I have don't have a problem with MW2, it's a fun game to play with three other friends in split screen versus mode (well, until we get at each others throats). My one problem I had was when he kept going on and on about it is " THE MOST REALISTIC FPS OF ALL TIME!" Now, we all know that it's not realistic in the slightest, I even tried to prove that it's not with some facts, and even recommend some games more realistic then MW2, but He would just say that I'm wrong and continue praising it till I wished I had my copy of it so I could throw it out a window. Now see as how many threads there are bashing on the game here on the Escapist, I thought "Why not build one big thread to talk about all of it." So pull up a chair, type your facts, quirks, and recommendations.
P.S. I did not build this thread just to hate on MW2, like I said, I enjoy playing split screen with friends.
Facts.
1: You can't take out a UAV with a full Scar magazine and stopping power pro, IRL.
2: You can't throw a knife that far and kill someone. IRL.
3: Commando. Nuff said.

You can't sprint non-stop for five minutes while carrying a Light Machine Gun and a shotgun, then jump of a 30ft building while hip-firing the aforementioned Machine Gun and hit the ground taking no damage, then resume sprinting IRL, either.

Dual wielding shotguns with a heartbeat sensor = realism, duh. Get your friend to play ARMA or something.

i agree mw2 is fun but its as realistic as the imaginary bunny next to me that tells me to burn things
1.when you have the ability to knife someone by flying 20 feet across a room
2.when your gun can detect enemy heartbeats
3.when you can get shot in the chest three times and just duck behind cover and be ok in less than 10 seconds
but i recommend bad company 2 mostly because it doesnt take itself to seriously and it feels slightly better

A 50. cal sniper can shoot through helicopter cock pit and kill the pilot irl.
But not in MW2!

1: You can't take out a UAV with a full Scar magazine and stopping power pro, IRL.

A UAV is just a millitary rc plane. Its pretty much one of these

You forgot to take into account bullet spread. Chances are you can do it with a sniper rifle, but not an assault rifle.

You can't launch nuclear missles from a Sub, they don't just leave a button lying around so anyone can activate the nuke. They have failsafes in place to stop this.

The Russians can't see Makarov's face despite having the original video, yet the US can track down the weapons dealer that supplied him by zooming in on a bullet on a copy of that video.

Why did Soap and Price decide to raid Shepard's compound alone? They're members of S.A.S, why don't they get the British and the rest of S.A.S to help them? Who are they gonna believe? Two of their agents or the words of a general of a country that had a part in a terroist attack?

Modern Warfare 2 is far from realisitic and no game is realisitic, they are video games. They will break logic without question and we don't care. We play video games to get out of reality, why would you bring Reality into Video Games?

i find it mildly humoures that people can drop down from a building and continue running with a 50 caliber rifle, and that a knife is more lethal then a gun, its not realistic, a realistic war game would you be shot and your mates try to heal you in a field hospital until you die of a infection from the wound

Well yes, because in real life people don't have their names floating in the air next to them, nor do they show up highlighted with red boxes in camera footage, so actually I'd say that's more realistic.

Oh, I thought you meant taking it down with an assault rifle was impossible what so ever. Yes from that range, you will almost certainly fail. But taking it down with an assault rifle, considering the rounds hit, is very much possible.
