How many of you are still remotley interested in the Wii anymore? In my opinion, it's basicly like the N64. It had a good run with Smash Bros., and Zelda, and even the first three-D Mario game but eventually it faded from memory. Do you think the Wii will hold the same fate?

It's my primary system. So what do you think?
My Xbox 360 has so much dust all over it now.

I take advantage of the backwards compatibility of my Wii, and play old game cube games on it. So I actually do get a lot of use out of my Wii playing a combination of Wii and game cube games.

I play it more than my PC and Xbox 360, so, yes, it's important for me.

Not the best topic for a first post...

The Wii probably is a bit under the radar compared to the other two big guys, but it's not dead. People complain about it not having much to play, but they don't look very hard. Metroid, No More Heroes, Muramasa, Madworld, Tales of Symphonia, Okami, and others. Look at a list sometime. Admittedly, it's not massive like the other two systems, but it's not small by any means.

I play my N64 more than I play my Wii, if that tells you anything.

I've played Metroid, No More Heroes, Madworld, and Okami on the Wii and they were all very great games totally worth checking out. If you never played Resident Evil 4 they have the Wii version for $20 brand new and it's the best version of the game. The new Silent Hill looks like it has potential as well but it could also end up being terrible. Also House of the Dead: Overkill = one of the best local 2 player games on the system, you NEED to rent this.

My Wii gets more use than my PS3. but I alternate between my 360 and PC the most.

It just depends what I'm in the mood for. If I want to have some semi-mindless fun I play the Wii, because Nintendo's games are lighter on involving storyline than other platforms.

If I want to be bored out of my brain, I turn on the PS3, because nothing original or entertaining has come out on that front for the last couple of years.

I play my N64 more than anything to be honest. Some of my favorites are Conkers Bad Fur Day, Star Fox 64 (God I loved that one), Super Mario 64, Kirby and the Crystal Shards, and Pokemon Stadium. Actually now that I think about it, I think I pretty mutch screwed myself over with this post. I've been enlightened. Thank You (not sarcastic)

oh man, I can definitely agree with the OP here.

I played the wii far more back in the day when Smash Bros and Animal Crossing was launched. I have not booted it up for a good 6 months now, thinking about selling it.

We'll see if the New Super Mario can revive the white box.

I don't own a wii, but funnily enough my friend does, and soon he is buying an xbox 360 because he feels that for the few good games on the wii such as That legend of Zelda game and SSBB (Only when you have most of the characters and maps unlocked and you're playing with three other friends) there's a tonne of games like My little pet shop which are just shitty commercialised puddles of pink vomit as opposed to actual games, and "Hardcore" games that try waaaaay too hard at being hardcore on a console that was pretty much doomed to the land of Casual and kiddie gaming the day it was first revealed.

I would play mine constantly if it were fixed. I have yet to find someone who can beat me in Brawl(of Melee). I am surprised at this thread, usually most people are against the Wii but this thread has-collectively-more pro-Wii people than any other thread I've seen. I can't wait for some of the newly announced titles to come out!

I had a Wii once.

I traded it for a PS3. Best decision I've ever made.
I would imagine it would be.

I'm a die-hard 360 fanboy, and even I think thats a good decision.

but I assume to have traded in the Wii for a ps3 you either:

1)brought some extra cash with the Wii

2)brought some games to trade in as well

3)bought a used ps3

4)brought in an extra Wii (if you are thick enough to buy a second one after the first)

I've played around with the Wii at Best Buy and that stupid unresponsive motion control and lack of games worth discussing---well, that's enough to make me glad I never bought one.

I would be playing my Wii right now if I had it with me. However, it's at my house, and my college is decent distance away for someone who does not own a car. Plus, it's almost 2am in my area, so I don't want to disturb my folks.

I get about equal use out of Wii and PS3 because I only own games that are worth playing again. 360 doesn't have anything I like that PS3 doesn't already have.
I really think half of the opinions on topics like this are fanboys of one console or another trying to get their digs in. Also, since when does a game have to be "hardcore" to be good? When did the fun factor stop mattering, and the almighty Achievements take over? When did photorealistic graphics become necessary for a game to be good? I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I'm the only one who plays Sonic CD for fun anymore.
