As per the title.

My #1 goes to Spring Breakers, which I went into with great expectations. I'd heard a lot of good things about it, and while there were some, the movie was torturously overlong even at only 92 minutes, very VERY boring in places and whatever ideas it had it blew in the first 15 minutes. It felt like an overlong short film at best, and an overlong music video at worst.

Iron Man 3 comes as second. Mind you, it's not a terrible film by any means, and I thoroughly enjoyed it while watching it. Only after when I've had time to think about it I've had multiple "Wait a minute!" epiphanies about it. I may have to rewatch it to be sure, but for the moment it just feels like the story was written by firing a shotgun at a wall and then connecting the dots, plot conveniences and inconsistencies with the previous movies galore (like the Iron Man armor getting smashed to pieces by a truck) and many of the central elements just feel dumb.

Your picks?

Thor the Dark World. Why?...because I saw about three movies this year and I happened to like the Hobbit better than this...so it...kinda gets this role by default.

How I Live Now

I had never read the book and the film left out so much information, I wasn't even sure what I was watching.

I came out of that film with so many questions.

The Hobbit. I went to see it in January and I was massively disappointed in the movie. It wasn't funny or charming and I was bored halfway through the film. Needless to say, I don't have any desire to repeat that mistake this January, so I've decided to just skip the sequel. I might borrow it from a friend at some point though... we'll see.

Otherwise, I was pretty happy with the movies I went to see in theaters.

Riddick, hands down. I thought it was a perfectly enjoyable, if mediocre, action romp but (and I'd really rather this didn't turn into a big debate) I had a lot of problems with the way women were presented in that film that completely ruined it for me.

I go to the cinema quite a lot, but I'm quite discerning with my choices and aware of my own tastes so it's rare that I see a truly dreadful film. I saw a few that I know didn't go down well generally, like Iron Man 3, Kick-Ass 2, The Wolverine, Ender's Game, Man of Steel, but I thought they were all ok. Not amazing, but I don't feel like I wasted my time with them or anything.

Star Trek: Into Darkness. I saw about 8 movies in theaters, it was by far the biggest let down (the bad writing aside, it had an uphill battle given it had the worst kept secret of the year).

For me, it's a tie between the Hobbit 2 and Man of Steel. I found the former very disappointing, and God only knows why I let my friends drag me into a Superman movie...

To me that goes to Oblivion and The Hangover Part 3. Before you asked why I watched those two, I pretty much watched the summer films for free thanks to my awesome uncle (he was pretty much a movie watcher during last summer).

Only God Forgives was a painful self-indulgent bore. I went in hoping to high hell that the critics were being overly harsh, that Refn hadn't fallen back on making flicks like Valhalla Rising and that people just had a low tolerance for gore and dark crime stories.

I was sorely disappointed. Still, I'd re-watch it. Give it another shot in a home-viewing context. It did have some good points, just, oy, the script! >_<

I can't remember what all I saw last year =S All I can remember seeing was;

Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Anchorman 2
White House Down

Of those, White House Down I guess. I didn't go in with big expectations but it was still enjoyable, stupid fun. Thor 2 would be 2nd worst.

If this included 2012 as well then without a doubt I'd have to pick Looper.

EDIT: I just remembered! I saw After Earth too! ...I'm not sure if that replaces White House Down actually. They're equally mediocre...

-Escape Plan
-The Hangover Part III
-Jack the Giant Slayer

Twilight. The first one.

Yes i saw that in the movies. Friend of mine asked if i wanted to see a flick called twilight (it was COMPLETELY unknown then) When i asked him what it was all about he answered; "a war between vampires and werewolf."

Well that can't go wrong i though.

How wrong i was.

I don't go to the movies that often anymore, and usually it's a film i'm interested in seeing or looking forward to so i don't ever go to movies i think that will be bad. Or at least, that i won't enjoy them.

Oh man, you poor sonovabitch. I only rented it, but yeah. It's one of the worst movies to come out in cinemas for a while.

OT: Parker

Twilight was completely unknown... in 2013? And it was being re-shown in cinemas?
Anyway, Man of Steel for me. I wasn't expecting to like, in fact I only went to see it because I thought all my friends were (but they weren't; what a waste), but rather than just being average like I expected it was gloriously terrible.

I didn't see too many bad movies in Theaters, but the one that I was disappointed with, but not the worst by any stretch was The Butler.

I don't think it's a bad film, but the film boasts this large cast, and all together, the extended cast is in the movie for about 10 minutes of a nearly two hour film. That feels like false advertising, and it really sullied me on how I should have felt of what is essentially, Forrest Gump in the White House.

Oprah Winfrey's character got on my nerves, she fluctuated between likeable and despicable almost within the same scenes in some cases. Perhaps being a young man, I don't understand women and that I have to resort to an almost Neanderthal like response of, "She's not consistent! Women don't act that way!" perhaps speaks more of how little I know women, but she was just annoying one second, and normal the next. I got kind of tired of the mood swings, but that might work for other people, just not for me.

I also got sort of put off with the film's last act choices, but that's another story altogether. It left me disappointed, not one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

As for the worst of 2013 (That came out in 2013 and that released in 2013 on DVD/Instant): inAPPropriate Comedy.
I could have put Movie 43, but It doesn't count. I could have said Only God Forgives, but I never finished it.
Instead, I highlight inAPPropriate Comedy. I have never felt so put off with movies (The medium of film as a whole) then this movie. I was left angered, outraged and shocked. I wouldn't have counted the movie if it called itself Inappropriate Movie, but it didn't.

I understand the film is an equal opportunity offender, but being offensive can be allowed if somebody is laughing, and I feel it is only the actors, writer and director Vince Offer (The ShamWOW guy!) who are laughing.
If you find the movie is "Inappropriate", Fair enough, so does everybody else. If you find this movie to be "Comedy", I deduce you are screwy in a way that to explain why would probably get me banned for making assumptions about you. When the Amazing Racist shows up within the film and gets attacked, even if it was written that way, and his character finally says, "It's a joke, I don't believe in it", You have officially crossed a line that tells me you are asking for every sort of harassment you receive, and I hope you get it. That's a kind of ilk that if the characters in the written sketch are pissed off, There is nothing funny about you. You have skipped passed Borat and Jackass to become the equivalent of being a snuff film, where you have the killer grabbing the corpse of comedy and using his limp hands to clap for that 'Killer Joke' he just made.

I think of the cast: Michelle Rodriguez, Rob Schneider, Adrien Brody, even Lindsay Lohan, were all conned into the movie somehow, and some of them are good in some roles, but the film, as a whole, infuriated me. I hope the actors, even Rob Schneider, gets a chance to act in front of a camera again soon, but Vince Offer is a blithe to Cinema. Worse than Uwe Boll, Worse then Michael Bay, Worse then Seltzer and Friedburg (Yes, worse then them). I hope he is never allowed to release a film ever again, in my personal opinion.

That is my worst film of 2013.

That movie with the magicians, what's it called...give me a moment to IMDB this thing...Now You See Me.

God what a piece of crap.

Watching magic tricks is interesting in person because of the skill it takes for the magician to manipulate your attention so you don't see the slights of hand, and the various mechanical things that go into the magic tricks. The problem with watching movies about magicians and magic tricks is that anything done in the movie is completely unimpressive since the director gets to decide exactly where you're looking at all times, and anything can be done with CGI.

The entire thing felt like a cheap knockoff of Ocean's Eleven and The Italian Job, but with lazy magic contrivances. I really couldn't get into it at all. That's really a shame because I like most of the actors in the movie.

I only went to see a small handful of movies last year, so for me my worst is based on like...7 films throughout the entire year.

So on that note, I would say the worst movie I watched last year was Man of Steel. I just thought it was really really boring.

Worst movie I saw in the theater this year? Man of Steel.

I'm not a fan of the DC universe in general, but I was hopeful about the setup for Justice League - and then vastly disappointed.

Last year, it was the Hobbit. The reason why I enjoyed Desolation of Smaug so much is because of the first one's disappointment.
