Playing my PS2 i jerked my hands because of a bit in the game. It pulled the cord of the remote and the PS2 fell 2 feet and the disk drive broke. Amazingly enough, it fixed itself.
Every time my uncle would come up from Oregon in the late 80's and early 90's he would end up doing some shit to our computer that would result in needing to reformat and reinstall the OS so I would end up losing all my progress in every game I had on our PC. We not longer talk to him for other reasons and that's a good thing.
I've also had a hard drive die while I was playing a game, it wasn't cool.

Umm well, I downoaded the Mythic map packs for Halo 3, but it never downloaded right. So I paod my money, but I didn't get the maps.

Referencing glitch in Oblivion robbed me of my Wizard tower, which was where I kept all my rare and useful sh!t.
Then it happened again on the same character, only this time the Knights of the Nine artifacts and methrune's razor were in it. I was only half way done with the Knights of the Nine quest too.
Then I was just about to beat the Shivering Isles main quest when my friend comes over, makes a new character, and saves over mine.
I basically gave up on playing Oblivion after that.

You don't know the pain that game's caused me i spend 50$ on it and beat it earning the best ending.
It was horrible but I said I faid for this fucking game I'm atleast going to get my money's worth outta it. Then for my next game I bought Resident Evil

I'm extremely lucky, the worst thing that has happened to me would be accidentally deleting/saving over characters I spend hundreds of hours playing.
However, if one memory card ever gets lost... well, stolen goods can be fairly easily replaced but four maximized characters in Phantasy Star Online Ep1&2 will never be recovered.(total of about 3000 hours playtime for me, and nearly 1000 hours for friends who helped me get some rares and helped me level the last level)
