One time I was playing champions of norath with a friend, we ended up getting attacked by 7 guys, we both died, and we ended up realizing we hadn't saved for like 2 hours. when it reloaded we were only half way through the previous Act. So needless to say we were pissed.
It turns out that in that 2 hour span we found awesome gear and tons of gold.
We were so angry we just stopped playing that. haven't played it ever since.

I was about five areas away from beating Final Fantasy XII. I had 105 hours recorded in the game. My characters were all level 70+. I had done all of the listed hunts, just beaten Gilgamesh, attained the highest hunt ranking, and done too many side quests to count. (During a quest where I had to run around a village picking up crystals I couldn't actually see for 10 minutes, the power went out in the house 3 times.. I was always about to save when the power outted. But I was determined!) I felt so satisfied. I'm a grinder. I enjoy leveling up mindlessly for hours. I ENJOY it.

Anywho.. Being an OCD grinder in RPGs, I usually do that part for my guy. His FFXII characters were still at the beginning, a mere level 30 (partly thanks to my help already). I loaded up his save and started leveling him. I was sleepy and wanted to take a nap, so I hit a save point about two hours later.. and saved over MY FILE.

I haven't been able to touch an RPG since. I just don't feel like it at all.. Especially not doing FFXII from the beginning again..

Finally in grasp of completing my goal of beating CoD4's extra ending mission (Aka. Mile High Club) on Veteran, shot the guy holding the hostage once, finger slipped after the first shot- hitting the hostage dead on. Took me 20 tries after wards to completely it.

Ninja Gaiden 2.
I'm about to beat the last boss. The same day, I'm having a friend come over.
He hasn't gotten to play the game yet, so he asks me if he could try it out. I say yes, he starts it up and begins playing. Not five minutes in, he hits the first save point.
He saves over my file.
I haven't touched the game since.

I was trying to get the seven day survivor achievement in dead rising and I was on the sixth day and I had more than enough food to make it when all the sudden the 360 freezes up on me. My roommate had to actually hold me back because I was seriously going to break that thing.

I remember once playing Halo3's MLG playlist with a few friends who were over, and my wireless connection wireless connection was crapping out, so the game was incredibly laggy for us. Now it was me and two friends who were on the badly connected 360 and one other guy on our team. So this guy starts being a total douchbag right in the middle of the match. Literally screaming into the mike about how much we suck and that we were standing still half the match (because we were stuck at the death screen). So I eventually muted him because he wouldn't stop shouting. That afterwords he became unmated somehow and started screaming again. Even when the entire other team confirmed the match was laggy. Se eventually left, I only can suspect because he realized how much of an ass he was being.

Oh, also he sounded somewhere around twelve.

Accidentally dropping three zeros from my asking price while contract-selling off a rigged Raven in EVE Online. That ship was worth a hundred and twenty million, and I sold it for a hundred and twenty thousand.

Worst part was the way a macro-driven ISK farming character snapped it up within ten seconds, not even giving me time to notice and correct my mistake.

This has also happened to me, the purest rage I have ever felt stemmed from that moment.

Following a similar theme the day after I finally finished Vice City with 100%(this took me months because of my work schedule) my house was broken into and the only thing the person took was my PS2, my games, and a couple of DVDs. I would have gladly let them get away if they had only left behind the memory card.

Jumping out of a starfighter in Star Wars Battlefront mid flight only to have it decide to plummet straight down like a rock instead of continuing with it's forward momentum and crush me into the ground.

After following through the entire Mage's Guild quest in Oblivion for the first time, I get to the door through which Mannimarco is waiting oh-so-patiently, and the game freezes on the loading screen. This happened over TWENTY times. I said, oh, fuck it, and went to do something else worth my time.

A month passes.

Now, having gone through several other aside quests, mostly Daedric Prince/Princess missions, I return to try again. Miraculously, I get through the door and up to Mannimarco...and nothing worked against him. My sword, my magic, a different sword, a bow, another bow for some odd reason...only summoning a Golden Saint and Flesh Atronach did anything against him. A five second fight turned into fifteen mintues. Ugh.

I had a hard drive give me the Click Click Click of Death...taking all of my PC game saves with it.

I lost a 50-hour Port Royale 2 save, a Sims 2 neighborhood with 56 houses in it (all occupied---I'd been working on it for two years), an emulated FF6 save with all characters at LV99, a late-stage Rome: Total War campaign, a Patrician 3 save with four game years' worth of play (in a game where a month of game time can be two hours of real time once things get crowded), a Capitalism II save in which my character was a trillionaire, a Tropico save with 200 game years' worth of open-ended play, not to mention all of my dozens of PC game installs which had to be reinstalled from the ground up on the new drive.

I'm never buying another Maxtor product as long as I live.
